Late in the game, around a minute or two to go. Southern down by two or four I think, with the ball and in the double bonus. Guard drives to the hoop and is fouled. Two free throws! Right?
No. Next thing I see is Southern is inbounding the ball. What the hell? Why wasn't Southern shooting FTs?
Anyone else puzzled by this?

I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
I'm puzzled that 3 referee's missed a clear double dribble by Olynyk late in the game
December 3, 2011 - Forever haunted by what I witnessed...
Even though it looked like a foul in real time and on the replay, I don't think the refs called a foul, pretty sure they called it a clean strip and that he knocked it out of bounds in the process.
Oh, OK. I was at a bar and didn't have sound.
It was clearly a foul. Don't know how the refs could miss that.
there was no way that the tourneys most famous cinderella was going to get "cinderella'd" in it's first shot at 1 seed. No way that was going to be allowed.
If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day.
That was a poorly officiated game. For most of the 2nd half, I thought Southern supplied the officials. For the last 2 minutes they looked like they were in Gonzaga's back pocket.
Also known as another day at the office for Ted Valentine (he was officiating).
Figured it would have to be either TV Ted or 212 year old Jim Burr involved. What game did Burr screw up yesterday?

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Yeah, that is definitely what they called.
What puzzled me was that CBS showed no replay of the guy fouled on the shot the refs said was a two pointer instead of a 3 pointer. Southern was down 59-56 at that point. It sure as shit looked like he had both feet behind the line in real time.
I remember being surprised at that as well.
+1....I'm glad I'm not the only one who saw that. The broadcast crew made no mention of that at all. If I'm not mistaken that lead to the Pangos 3 that sealed it.
Just watched it again and his foot was definitely on the line, you can see it in the replay they showed
