Another vote for Ireland. With only 10 days, this would be the perfect option IMO. Grab a rental car, go on your own little tour. The small towns are the best.
Here's what i would do:
1.) Arrive in Dublin, spend a night there
2.) Take a drive across the island (2 hour drive) to Galway stopping at castles along the way.
3.) spend a day or two in Galway
4.) Drive south to cliffs of moher
5.) Check out Killarney
6.) Head to Cork. Blarney castle is there, but Cork itself is nice.
7.) Waterford if you're into crystal
8.) Back to Dublin and stay 2 days or do now that you've seen most of the country. You'll appreciate it more now.

Slightly off topic here, but has the OG made its way to Europe yet to continue its unbridled culinary domination?
Don't miss Budapest or Krakow if in E Europe. Prague and Vienna would be good calls too. Try farther west into Amsterdam and Bruges too. The beer in Bruges is other worldly. And the coffee in the Amsterdam coffee shops is exquisite

supposed to hit mid 40's later this week with snow down to 700 meters.
Luzern is the coolest city in Switzerland, probably the closest to "normal" you will find in terms of people and the lake and views are unbeatable.
I think we should take some of these people, and send 'em up to Bear Mountain for a picnic.
Went up to Rigi summit today. Was snowing like crazy up there. Definitely didn't pack for that.
Heading to Bellinzonia tomorrow and then Lake Como on Thursday, but Luzern has definitely been cool.
sounds like you're on a helluva trip, Lake Como is super, super nice. going from the German part of Switzerland to Italy is like going from the proctologist to a party where you know everybody.
is this vacation or sight seeing?
if vacation pick a regional hub and do limited travel from there.
if sight seeing pick something you can't see anywhere in North America.
