Carlos Zambrano is jealous.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
Everybody involved is jealous of Kyle Farnsworth. Dude knew how to tackle.
Carlos Liston from Major League 3.
Also, allow me to facepalm for a bit.

I was at the game yesterday. Beautiful day for a game (once the sun made it's way to us), but just a prototypical cubs performance. Play well enough to get everyone believing they will win, give up that lead, get it back to make everyone think they can win, get to one strike away in the bottom of the ninth, give up a bomb to tie it, then melt down in the extra inning to crush any hopes. And in the process give up 2 (or was it 3?) runs as a result of wild pitches, and give up the go ahead run on a balk.
I think the five wild pitches in one inning was a record of some kind. And that was done without a knuckleballer on the mound. Impressive.
Great tickets for $35 though.
The home opener was awesome. My next game will be a Fri afternoon game in mid May.
I've got a bunch of tickets for June and July this year which will be fun, but the way things are going the Cubs will be about 20 games back by the All Star break.
Also, sounds like the Ricketts and Rahm finally put Tunney in his place and got a deal done. The rooftop owners will likely be pissed.
5000 SF video board coming to left field. A new 2-story Captain Morgan's club.
Chicago and the Cubs announced they have reached agreement on a framework to renovate iconic Wrigley Field.
lol at the Cubs and their douchebag fans I hope they NEVER win a World Series.
Hell even my Diamondbacks have won a World Series in this century. The Cubs are so full of fail and I love it haha.
Tunney has been a complete moran throughout the entire process. Glad to see someone finally told him to STFU.
Ricketts was working the crowd right by us yesterday. Stopped to shake some hands and kiss some babies a few feet away. Everyone seemed to be pretty excited by his presence. No heckling or anything.
I can't imagine any Cubs fan heckling him. He's the best thing to happen to the Cubs in decades. They finally have an owner who seems to be legitimately interested in winning games.
I think it sucks that the City has no issues bastardizing the Landmark status, but I get that Wrigley Field is different than an office building and things will need to change with it.
Tunny tried to take a stand, but the problem is that he chose the wrong side (the 10 or so rooftop owners) rather than standing up for what is best for the future of the Cubs (and the future of Wrigleyville in general). He's about to get steamrolled for it.
I don't think Lambeau Field has landmark status, but I think that's a great example of maintaining the history of a stadium but bringing into the modern era. The old Lambeau was like a small version of the big house. A concrete bowl surrounded by open air concourses and a corrugated steel exterior. I would think/hope they'll do something similar in the case of Wrigley.
SUCK IT TUNNEY
I don't think Lambeau is old enough to gain national historic landmark status (one of the criteria is that the structure has to be considered "significant" for longer than 50 years, and although Lambeau was built in 1957 there is probably some grey area concerning when it became significant from a cultural perspective).
Having said that there is nothing stopping the State of Wisconsin or city of Green Bay from creating a local status for it. I'm not familiar enough with the stadium to know if there is anything unique about it's architecture or design that would qualify it.
Soldier Field had a national historic landmark designation that was stripped in 2004 after the "renovations" to it.
The landmark status of Wrigley is a local designation, not a national one. (It is eligible for national designation, but the owners/city have never sought it, likely because it would create another hurdle to renovations). Fenway Park is on the National registration and they've managed to update it with advertising, video boards, etc. Chicago's local designation is strange in that it doesn't cover the entire structure, only portions of it. (The scoreboard, ivy, bleachers, etc)
Why is there an own thread for a club that hasn't won a World Series since before Lenin led the Bolsheviks?
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
Not only did Tunney get nothing he wanted in terms of protecting the rooftop owners, it sounds like the deal includes additional advertising, more night games and 3:05pm Friday starts.
It also sounds like an LED ribbon along the upper deck grandstand and a new "deck" in LF are part of the deal. I want to see some renderings.
Well, it's four pages deep, so clearly some are interested in it. And it's OT season. And there's an official Toledo Mudhens thread, so this should not be causing consternation. Why jump in here to post that when it's clear what the thread will be about?
Shocking to think that the Titanic sank four years AFTER the cubs won their last world series.
Just to remind Cubs fans how long it's been...
We know how long it's been. Saying it doesn't constitute any major burn.
Agree, Now someone brings up 108 years, you say those are my cubs. You are used to it lol
New images of proposed video board.
Also, Ricketts threatened to move the team today if they don't get some movement on negotiations. He has to be pretty frustrated with Tunney and friends at this point.
Heading to the game tonight with a big group. Anyone else going? Beautiful weather, and we're going to play the cup game to keep it interesting.
Will be an awesome night for a game.
