Not sure if there is a thread out for this year.
Lions just announced they will not be bringing back 3 assistants. WR coach (Jefferson), RB coach (Lash), and OL coach (Yarno)

Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Really don't understand firing the guys they did when they're keeping several coaches whose positions had a lot more issues. Not sure what the WR coach could have done other than not lose 3 of his top 4 players.

Remind yourself. Nobody built like you, you design yourself.
Linehan's trying to scapegoat some people to save his job.
This is the biggest concern for me. Special teams cost us the Tennessee and Minnesota games (4 TD's given up)
The special teams coach deserves his head to be on a platter.
"Stats are for Losers." - Pat "Nardawg" Narduzzi
They should bring back Stan Kwan
So Jefferson, who was popular with players, got credit for development, was the WR coach last year when Stafford became one of only 5 QBs ever to throw for over 5,000 yards in a season and was WR coach this season when CJ broke the all-time WR yardages mark, as well as around 5 other records, gets fired, huh. Yeah, seems he was the problem.
Guess linehan, mr. "I don't coach until the 4th quarter," didn't like that Jefferson was furious he kept Young in the game when Jefferson kew Young was sabotaging the offense. Weak. Ditto Gash, he did a good job with the RBs, considering the situations and personnel.
15 players Lions could draft in first 2 rounds
Jarvis Jones LB/DE Georgia
Manti Te'o LB Notre Dame
Damontre Moore DE Texas A&M
Luke Joeckel OT Texas A&M
Bjorn Werner DE Florida State
Star Lotulelei DT Utah
Dee Milliner CB Alabama
Barkevious Mingo DE/LB LSU
Alec Ogletree LB Georgia
Xavier Rhodes CB Florida State
Bacarri Rambo S Georgia
Arthur Brown LB Kansas State
Andre Ellington RB Clemson
Kenjon Barner RB Oregon
Cordarrelle Patterson WR Tennessee
No playoffs for the Lions this year, so it's time to look ahead to best time of year: the NFL draft. What follows are 10 players the Lions could draft with the No. 5 overall pick and five more players they could draft in the second round.
Te'o, Jones, Werner, or Moore with the first pick. Then best available secondary player with the 2nd rounder.
Holy shit...I didn't realize they had so many draft picks in this draft. They must have been making a lot of trades.
Scrap the franchise
Barner would be awesome to watch. But they need defense.
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
Updated mock draft today has Detroit taking Demontre Moore

No reaches, that is how you end up with Jordan Dizon.
God bless Millen
Dizon and Ikaika Alama-Francis in the 2nd round
I really hope they can trade down and turn that 5th pick into a few picks. This draft is not very top heavy and as good as Te'o looks, I really don't want to have to root for him.
Now that's a bad way to look at things
You don't want Te'o on the Lions because he went to ND
I mean kind of. What's the point of having them win if you don't like their players? I guess Teo is a nice enough guy though.
This is the reason I will never be a die hard pro sports fan.
He has some sick stats. 80 Tackles, 20 TFL and 12.5 sacks.
A man's gotta eat!
The Lions got selected to coach in the Senior Bowl. That can't hurt.
Best pass rusher 1st round. 2nd round--center or DB whichever gives the best value (crapshoot with Lions, granted). Supposedly, there will be some excellent SS at the top of the second round. However, Raiola is spent, and the Lions absolutely need to replace him. I think if everyone is healthy, with an excellent pass rusher, the secondary can be serviceable. Our running game is dogshit, though.
Reiff will be starting in place of Backus and maybe Fox will finally see some action, but there is no one on the team to replace Raiola. If Barrett Jones from Alabama is there in the second round, he'd be tough to pass on.

I'm surprised they're sticking with Geno Smith as #1 overall. Good? Sure. #1 overall? Not so sure.
Good news, of a sort. I'm not all that enamored of Spievey (couldn't hack it at CB, not healthy enough to stay on the field at S, not as good as either Quin or Delmas anyway), but he's still depth at a position the team needs it.
Now let's see what the NFL does with him.
Amari Spievey is taking part in a family violence education program and his attorney said today charges against the Lions safety for his role in a child-support dispute should be dismissed in June.
Thank you, Denicos.
Not really an "Off-Season" topic, more a draft topic, but how happy would UM fans be if the Lions drafted an Appy State punter?
After an impressive performance at the Super Regional Combine in Dallas, Cody Davis could be a potential mid-to-late round pick for the Lions
Coupla random things: the Lions signed that Norwegian trick kicker (off his YouTube video and an in-person workout), and BJ Cunningham "beat" Ronald Johnson in the competition to remain on the Philadelphia Eagles' practice squad. (Yeah, the same Ronald Johnson that dumped us for USC.)
David Akers is going to have some competition for the kicking job in Detroit. And it filled with stupendous kick...
