w/ 10 to go it was 47-35. just under two minutes @ Payne's putback made it 57-49. Gary with the Free Throws to seal it.
Kind of reminds me of the ends of games vs. Syracuse, Iowa State, and Louisville. what else happened those years?

I was thinking the same thing.
The 22-2 run was a thing of beauty. That said we brain farted them back into it with 2 horrible inbounds plays and a couple plays of not securing rebounds. The Harris dunk just energized the team and the defense took over and so did Payne on that end.

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Valentine is young. Wasn't ready for that full court pressure. It's cool, learning experience. They'll get better.
A bad day of fishing is better than a good day of work!!
Fran is a hot head but in this game he was justified, we got all/most the calls.
I think Iowa will be a major factor in the next couple years. He is a good coach (he went zone a ton with Dawson in and over loaded the opposite side), and Clemmons and Woodbury will make huge strides.
The refs swallowed their whistles down the stretch, which helped us immensely. But I will take it.
"Leave the gun.....take the cannoli"
"It's not your job to be as confused as Nigel."
Agree. Different pressure situation for Valentine. The rest of the team didn't move very well during those inbounds either, so I'm not putting it all on him. Izzo will fix this now that other teams have it on video. Great win.
.....I was born to synthesize.....
Effective inbounding plays have been a team weakness for quite a while.
I will credit this to Keith Stone who decided to start standing on his chair right before the run started.
not entirely Valentines fault, part of blame is on the 4 other guys who didn't move
True, if Dawson had a better handle he'd be so helpful breaking it.
