I posed this question last year about this time and it failed to generate much discussion. I think some jack ass had posted a picture of a attractive girl in only her undergarments and many sought out the pleasure of the flesh as opposed to intelligent reporte`.
Again I ask, Is there any real discernible advantages in the NCAA Div l Mens Basketball Championship to receiving a #2 seeding as opposed to a # 3 ??
I will hang up and listen
Depending upon who else is a 2 seed, the 2 seeds get preferred treatment over 3 seeds when it comes to pod location for the first weekend. There's not much of a problem this year (no 2 seed is stealing Auburn Hills from MSU or UofM), but there are years where I team like Marquette or Notre Dame or someone could be a 2 seed and would get better treatment for location of their first two games than MSU as a 3 seed (depending upon where other regional games are scheduled).
In general though, 3-14 or 2-15 isn't a big deal. 3-6, 2-7 match-up in the 2nd round isn't a big deal and then you'd play each other. Honestly, there's a much bigger advantage for a 3 seed compared to a 4 seed (as a 3 you avoid the 1 seed until the Elite 8).

And if the good Lord’s willin’,
I’m a keep on chillin’,

After seeing Notre Dame's yunni's last night, there is probably some advantage to having them be a higher rated seed just so we don't have to look at those firefly abominations.
well the record of 14's beating 3's in the first round is a lot better than the 15's beating 2's (although with the amount of 1 seeds in the low major winning their tournys... there may actually be a fair few live 14 and 15 seeds this year)
3 seed potentally would face a 6 seed in round 2... 2 seed would face a 7..... slightly tougher game (but they are all hard at that stage....)
If I did my counting correctly I found 28 2-seeds in Final Four, 8 3-seeds.
Also a lot more tournament wins overall for 2-seeds than 3-seeds.
