lol - explain it to me, please.
My thoughts are they want to maximize viewers for all the games.

I just wanna make sure that we've confirmed the gametime with Vegas Vic and his sources?
Why would the early time work better for you? I too am driving to Florida and am glad it's the late time so I can get deep into Georgia, settle in to some hotel with some cold beers and watch the game. Maybe I should start a "where to watch the game in Valdosta, GA" thread.
. Are all of our kids on break?
I'm driving to FLA Too. Leaving Detroit 5 am Friday. Don't have a destination yet but plan on putting 15 hours in. I'm glad for the 9:45 start. I'll need a beer by then.
Because the plan was for the wife to drive until about 9p, me from then until 1-2a, sleep for a few, then wife to drive at 5a.
If I'm not driving, I can watch on the iPad.
FYI...you don't want to be anywhere near Atlanta around 5:00 pm. You will hit rushhour and everyone else in the world using 75/85 to get to the beach.
Just stop. Michigan-Kansas isn't the marquee game. If it was, it wouldn't be on at 7.
Why do you think Duke played at 9:40 on Sunday night?
Do you think that Marquette-Miami and Arizona-OSU are the marquee games ahead of the late game (IU-Syracuse) on Thursday?

Not only that, but Michigan-Kansas is on cable. You'd better believe CBS chose first and they chose the Midwest Region for Friday night.
One need only look at Thursday as well. CBS chose the East Region and they put the marquee game of their two (by far), IU-Syracuse, as the late game.
Edit: I see you also added the Thursday argument while I was typing my post. Nicely done.

I hear ya, plus reading horror stories about good Friday traffic potentially being bad all the way down 75, in addition to the usual Friday Atlanta rush hour nightmare. Either stop Friday afternoon north of Atl or maybe leave Thursday night to avoid the mess?
I know so many people heading down I think the entire State of Florida might tip right under. F it, at least it will be warm while we drown.
Traffic will start getting bad before 5 too.
I would advise anyone leaving Michigan to get a head start on Thursday night and sleep somewhere in Ohio, and then wake up and drive from there.
Sounds like a good plan - thanks.
Damn, Now You have me thinking. However, I'm just going to go for it try to get to Tiffin GA by game time. If I leave Detroit at 5 a.m., I have a good shot.
You mean Tifton?
A lot of pecans there.
No stops. Take a milk jug. Pee in the car.
If you are going to Destin, so is everyone in Atlanta. Just drive like Tony Stewart...you'll be fine.
How many other marquee events START at 10p?
Well then, you'd better call up CBS and tell them they need to change the time of the game because your wife isn't capable of driving after 9:45pm.
On the phone now ...
You kind of skipped over a few questions.
To be clear...you STILL think the 7:37 game on TBS is the marquee game, as opposed to the 9:45 game on CBS?
Cuz...that would be funny.
are most of the Marquee games really put on TBS?
The internet is your friend.
Triple team traffic covers congestion and construction on highways and roads across metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
... as you skip over my one question.
How many other marquee events START at 10p?
And no. That is not what I said. I think the 7p games will outdraw the 10p games.
Half the country is stuck in traffic or still working at 7:37 ET.
And much of the country is asleep at midnight.
