Because Duke is Duke and who cares about basketball in Miami?

That is new. I expect you to read.

Wait, didn't Indiana... you know... LOSE?!?
Not sure how Syracuse jumps us. A win against #25 Notre Dame against our win against #18 Minnesota. They have a home win against St. Johns against our away win against Purdue.
Also, Miami behind Gonzaga? That's a stretch.
Because very few voters use logic. They see the name on the front of the jersey and assume that team and program is better. Thank Christ the closest these guys get to the game is voting in a poll that is rendered meaningless in four weeks.
I think this is the obvious correct answer, but Duke has been boosted with early season wins against the #2,3,&4 ranked teams...which are now ranked #12,13,& 25 and no one revaluates Duke.
Yup. IU and scUM both lost to then unranked teams. Hard to understand voters.
Yeah, 5 teams ahead of us lost this week and we swept (including a ranked team and a decent road win), and we didn't even move up 1 spot?

Heres what I get when I click that link:

I can see Miami jumping us .. no idea why they were 11 last week, but Syracuse? Who did they beat?
So did everyone else (Duke's 1 point win against Boston College most likely caused a few voters to shy away) and Miami was ranked too far away last week to jump that far after beating no one last week.
If Butler doesn't hit that buzzer beater a few weeks ago, Zags might have been #1 today.

Out of Interest how would everyone have had voted the top 10 this week... because It is a bit of a minefield...
this is what I would have had
6 Michigan State
10 Kansas State
Meh, I had clicked on Moose's link and F5'd many a times and was still last weeks poll.
Thats what I get for trying to call out someone
7 Michigan State
10 Kansas State
How about losing to an unranked team and staying #1, or losing to an unranked team and dropping 1 spot?
Pollsters apparently lost their heads and decided to pretend this past week didn't happen.
5. Michigan State
10. Kansas State
I think the top 6 are pretty solid and all have legit shots at making a FF run. I'm not sold on anybody I ranked 7-10.
how does Syracuse jump us? by winning at home?
I woulda voted:
10. uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Butler, let's say.
Miami isn't getting enough respect. And Indiana loses to Illinois and bumps up to #1?
Seems a combination of people with weird ideas in the head and people just looking at win/loss records.

This is the national media spin machine. You think the voters really believe Miami should be in the top 5? They only have them up there b/c they are 2 games up on Duke in the ACC, so they pretty much have to have them there.
The great thing about college basketball is that these things mean squat come March 21.
Try pressing Alt+F4, it worked for me as i was seeing the same thing.
I'm not sure most voters realize that Miami beat Duke by 27.
By 11pm tomorrow night, both teams will be 21-4.
