It's not a sports show in the morning.
Not the main focus, but they discuss sports a lot. Especially big games.
Are we gonna act surprised today when the Detroit media acts like nothing happened? I mean, I didn't see an fsd post on Facebook about the game last night, a post that we all know would have been up had the result been different
Their morning show is awful. I don't see this as a big surprise.
So what, nothing new. F*ck Michigan all the way to hell.
They were talking about it at 6:30 on how MSU simply dominated them.
Oh I tuned in at 645. That morning show still sucks elephant penis.
Bill is a walvie, so I'm guessing they won't spend a ton of time on it.
The only thing worse is mark on wrif drew and mike show. THAT guy is the biggest walvie of all, I listened this morning and they never even mentioned there was a game
Curious how far Valenti will take it today.
One of drew and mike is a HUGE msu fan though, that show is great IMO
Just wait. Valenti will go off with all the fury of passive aggressiveness.
He's going fishing today.
If the result was different you know they would be talking about a national championship run and how great is beeline.
Is his system possibly going to revolutionize college bball blah blah.
Mattas poor evaluation saved scuMs program. Taking McDonald's aa Scott out of Georgia instead of Burke turned out to be a huge mistake.
Painters poor recruiting and evaluation gave scuM some athletes.
+1 for you.
I'll tell you what will happen. Valenti will start talking about the game BEGGING Spartan fans to call in, then get pissed when we don't. (hint to Mike - we have jobs and don't have time to call in. Spartans Will and all). Then some mouthbreather will call in asking what effect of have Hoke and Carr at the Breslin will have on recuiting. Then the next dickhead will comment on Stafford being at the game and ask if it would be a good idea to trade him for 7 1st rounders. Then it will go downhill.
Take 2 minutes from your tRCMB time at work during his show and send in a text or instant feedback.
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
Damn, you knocked it dead. You spend way too much time listening to the show.
Oh, so true. Belein fell into Burke, Hardaway and Robinson. Surely wasn't "in" on these guys in High school before their Junior/Senior years. Mcgary scared others away with his ADD and advanced age.
OTOH, I keep hearing the local media drooling about the PG they have coming in next year. What is the story on scUM's BBall class for 2013-14? Is that hype or what? I just don't see Belein as a dedicated/talented recruiter.
To their credit, Karsch and Anderson have been spending the first 40 or so minutes on it. Karsch has been very complimentary which is a nice change of pace.
I really wouldn't blame it as much on 97.1 ignoring it as much as I'd blame it on 97.1 having too many shows. After two four hour shows it's kind of a worn out topic and no one is going to call in on it anymore. More shows = more subject matter.
And Douche just said he thinks the turning point for MSU was the fight at PSU, and asked what's Michigan's? Not our win at Wisconsin, not the close game at IU despite Appling's foul trouble. He is such an ass, how could he have had a single friend at MSU?
They're just laying the groundwork for when this team wins the Big Ten or possibly gets to the Final Four.
"January thuggery drives MSU to success"
Just turned it on. Some guy called in about how he snuck into a Red Wings game 15 years ago....
Location: Mumbai, India
Derrick Walton, their PG, is a mid major offer type of guy. Zak Irvin, the kid Dakich was raving about, has a bunch of B1G and Beast offers. Mark Donnal, their other kid, has literally zero other offers.
This is a huge issue I had when I worked in an office and would listen to them for most of the day. For example, the morning show comes on and talks about Verlander having a good outing and the Tigers winning. Then Karsch and Anderson come on and talk about how dominant Verlander looked and the Tigers won. Then Valenti and Foster come on and ask people "Hey, did you guys see Verlander last night he looked great!"
Holy crap.. how can anyone discuss a game for 12 hours+ ?? And then listening to people call in about the same thing is just brutal after awhile.
Agreed. I'd listen to it on the way to lunch or the way home when I worked in Southfield and in the summer it's particularly brutal. Once the Wings and Pistons are done, they really should cut out their morning block and run ESPN Radio or Patrick until 2 when Valenti and Foster are on. All they have is the Tigers and maybe one day per week when Valenti is in (dude literally takes two or three days off per week in the summer) they'll throw in some Michigan/MSU football discussion once it gets to be July. Other than that it's Foster eating up three of the four hours talking about what can Detroit do to be back because that is the only topic other than the Tigers that will generate calls/listeners. A few rants about the subject, 4-5 long-winded callers, some banter with Dery, /show. Eight hours discussing a nine inning game is ridiculous and that's coming from someone who loves the baseball regular season.
Even now with three shows, how much do they even discuss the Pistons/Wings unless someone gets traded or fired? Maybe 15 minutes out of a 4 hour show?
