Can't wait to see our younger players get more PT! This is great for developing a better offense and not relying on bell and sims.
Yeah, it was exciting seeing our young WRs get some PT this year! Worked out great!
Dominating Press Conferences Since 2007
Behold the walls of Sparta: 10000 men and every one a brick.
Green sucked anyways...probably won't even make the NBA
Areas that need to step up, in order:
1. QB (likely not Maxwell anymore)
2. Roushar (2013 is a make or break year if you ask me.)
3. WR's (find some guys who know how to get open and catch the freaking ball!)
4. OL (get a rotation, and stay healthy)
If all those 4 improve, then the loss of Sims and Bell will be minimal.
Oh good, this thread again.

While I agree, can we not act like we didn't have receivers (albeit very young) dropping passes left and right all year?
Also, that "1st year starter" is a guy in his 4th year in the program. While game experience is invaluable, having those years to sit and learn behind other starters is what everyone else does... why does our QB have to be broken in when others don't?
The only addition by subtraction is Rousharded.

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Change is the BEST thing about college sports!
At the same time, you could argue that since it was 4 years since the last time that Maxwell really competed in a game, you lose some of the mental composure that you don't get from practice or even mop up duty.
hoke- to alter or manipulate so as to give a deceptively or superficially improved quality or value.
I'm so glad the bball team lost that dead weight that is Draymond Green.
Imagine how much better our defense would be if Rush, Bullough, Dennard, Allen, Jones, Lewis, and Drummund left? That would create even more PT for the younger guys.
But some guys are loyal to the program.
Hate to state the obvious but eventually they will all be gone. It's the nature of the game and what recruiting is all about. Greg Jones is gone but the D is still great. Cousins, Martin and Cunningham are gone and the offense suffered.
We rock on offense brah. Pretty offensive
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
qfmft........"addition by subtraction? wtf.................
you can say that again
If you're born with that mental composure aspect of the game, I don't think you lose it. I think it's either something you have or you don't, and it doesn't come and go.
Why downvote the OP? I agree 100% with his point. The entire offense relied on Bell. They didn't pass hard or catch hard because they knew Bell would bail them out. With Bell gone, they know they have to step up....... AND WILL!!!!!!
Same with the defense. Everyone just chilled hoping Gholston would handle it. Now, they know they need to step up. Addition by subtraction.

Jesus H Christ... I come back and am down voted to shit, thanks for a reasonable post rocket. A lot of posters are jumping ship, and only stating the bad things that come from them leaving as if they could somehow change Sims, Bell and Gholstons minds.
Defense, we are fine, I'm pumped for the younger guys to get a shot at playing, we have amazing depth and really only lose 3 players on D.
Offense will be interesting to see. Will they give up on Maxwell? I guess the thing I am hopeful for is if we find someone to step up after the abysmal showing this past season.
But whatever.... Keep bashing the program and focus on what we lost.
