You forgot an expletive or two.
Holy crap, that's just pathetic the number of threads about it.
my god the DELUSION is amazing! And when did Painter become the paragon of virtue in college basketball? Isn't he the same guy who CALLED DAWSON AT HOME and reamed him a new asshole for committing to MSU? Is that the "high road" they keep talking about?
It appears obvious to me that.....
1. Dawson made a fist.
2. Dawson swung the fist toward Tacos.
3. The fist didn't did Dawnson's chest.
4. Taco's head moves forward like he was buckling over due to a hit in the mid-section.
5. Taco's body moves backwards slightly (remember he's a big guy too).
6. Taco looks to a ref with an open mouth as though he's saying "did you see that"?
7. Dawson stares Taco's down with rage as they part.
All these things are consistent with a punch being thrown and landed. IMHO!!!!
After watching the video several times, this is what I see. Dawson does hit himself in the chest, BUT he hit Carroll first. He appears to hit Carroll around the top right corner of his 5 (by his armpit). You can see Carroll's body get knocked back by the punch. That's why he didn't buckle over like many are crying about. He got hit in the chest, moved Mack a step while putting his arm up, and then looked at the ref. Davis was by him. The game was still going. When the timeout was called, Davis got into Dawson's face. He got ushered out of the way, then TJ started up with Dawson.
You don't even have to see his fist to know that it was a punch. First of all, who chest bumps himself that vigorously after a teammate does something positive? Second, watch what Dawson does before the punch. He looks right at Carroll, steps back, plants his foot, cocks his arm, and twists his hips as his arm goes forward. If it were a celebratory thump, he would have probably jumped up or maybe leaned his upper body toward TC and brought his forearm right to his chest. Nobody braces himself like that and does a big roundhouse self-bump. It's ridiculous. I don't care if it landed or not - and Carrol's left shoulder shrugging upward at the 16-17 second mark sure makes it look like it landed or awfully close -- that's a thrown punch.

I miss the days when coaches had a mutual respect for one another. Painter is trying hard to hold on to that being a Keady pupil but clearly coaches like Crean and Izzo have put more worth in to winning than having a moral compass. Pretty pathetic really that Izzo has fallen to the level of slime that he has turned in to. Nothing is going to happen to Dawson over this because MSU is content with letting rapists play on the team so why would they do anything to someone that threw a rather limp wrist punch?
it is pretty obvious he threw a punch in retaliation to carrols fighting for position under the basket. its just the kind of play we have come to expect from an izzo coached team of thugs
Why would anyone pound their own chest when they didn't even make a play? I guess this is where Dawson being the biggest douchebag in college basketball plays in his favor, as only a complete douche would do something like that.

The butt hurt over there has hit critical mass. Jesus H. Christ, the number of idiots over there is staggering.
Your a retard.
Its March Madness. The biggest money-maker in college sports. And ironically, it features two top basketball players playing for the #1 seed who escaped culpability for an alleged rape.
I'm sorry the program you follow sucks in every sport. No... not really, eat a dick. We poach all of your would-be talent and laugh at you as we do it.
Funny that an editorial is being admitted as fact when a MSU hating DA threw the case out.
I love this guy that says you don't need to see his fist to know it was a punch.
Part of me wants to see the video get released just to shut them up. The other part wants the B1G to release a statement saying there was no punch, but not release the video just so those crazy bastards will continue to obsess over it.
We are not the same, I am a Spartan
You understand what the word "alleged" means ?

There is nothing to that story but a butthurt female journalist trying to make a name for herself. Had there been any concrete evidence that rape had taken place, you can bet your butthurt ass that Dunnings would have pulled up something.
Tell me though, how much does it suck to have such a dirty program swoop into your background numerous times and just pluck the players it wants? Has to blow following such a shitty program. Only thing worse is the fact that Izzo and MSU are universally lauded as one of the few clean elite programs in the country. Purdue, on the other hand? Completely irrelevant across the college sports landscape
This is what NO ONE outside of Michigan seems to get. Dunnings has absolutely no problem going after MSU athletes for any crime no matter how small. Had any of them actually done a modicum of research they would see that.
Tacos is their nickname for Carroll. They also say Izzo let's rapists play for MSU. I swear they have bigger issues dealing with IU, Butler and ND in basketball. To move us ahead of their hatred for IU is crazy, but that's where it's at.
It has nothing to do with her being a female, and everything to do with her not being a journalist. According to that article, she's the founder of something called the "Coalition Against Violent Athletes." Think there might be some bias there?
Based on the quality of you and your fan base, you would accept an editorial as facts. I hope you enjoy continuing to root for the B1G's forgotten distant cousin, through marriage.
I love that people think that athlete's get away with whatever they want in EL when the head honcho is a UM grad and donor.
If you want to get into facts, try researching the DA, Dunnings, a um grad with a long-time hard on for prosecuting MSU athletes to the fullest extent of the law. Or the case itself. Rape is a serious issue. The DA is a very, very serous DA. And the assistant DA who investigated is a woman who has zero history of going light on MSU. But yeah, you're into "facts" in the form of an article picked up from another article by the only organization that ran with the story after the DA released their findings- the michigan daily. Try researching that, too. That is the only thing close to being "media" that kept "reporting" the story, and everyone who did afterwards used them as the source.
An opinion piece, btw, is not, by definition, "fact." It is opinion. But that's just a fact.
Thank you, Denicos.
Are we still talking about nothing?
This country was built by people who worked hard then went home and had just a few too many every night. Then went back to work.
"The dream is trying to win a championship, trying to get to a Final Four," Painter said. "When you're last place in the Big Ten, you get laughed at when you're trying to sell that dream. We were just trying to get them to understand they had an opportunity to help us get back to the mountaintop. That excited them."
How'd that work out for those "Baby Boilers"? They're all gone and now Purdue is back in the dumpster.
Hey, I'll see that article and raise you this one about her.
Oh yeah, you're an idiot
YOUR have been banned from reading and posting on the Michigan Wolverine board.
And they seem to think that Izzo/MSU are protected by the media as well. If there was any truth whatsoever to any allegations that Izzo was paying a player, the Detroit media would love, love, LOVE to use it to nuke the program back to the Ganakas age. They don't realize the uneasy relationship that Izzo has with some of the media types in Michigan, and that he is not a favorite son. If there were any truth to any of the crap they are alleging, the Freep/News/Mlive/GR Press would be clamoring over each other to take him down.
She was one of the most outspoken people that tried to convict the Duke lacrosse players through the media. Zero credibility.
They are Purdue, let them wallow in their being an afterthought behind ND, IU and Butler.

Painter must be paying players because he's clearly saving money on his wardrobe.
