I hope if Andrew Maxwell is given the starting assignment next year. We all back him up all the way. I think he lost his confidence, when his receivers dropped passes. Lets show are Spartan Faith and give him a chance to prove himself.
If only faith moved the chains. Put up or shut up.
Maxwell is already tRCMB's designated scapegoat. This thread will not go well.

I don't put faith in anything. Maxwell will have a chance to prove that he is or isn't the best QB on the roster.
It have not faith yet.
I thought it was Roushar, judge Duffy? the justice league should be attacking and pontificating soon. Count down to the lunatics Booz and Rogue.

"There is another..."
(Pretty sure Yoda was referring to Damion Terry)
I personally can't wait for the Damien Terry era to begin. It won't be next season but I truly do believe he will be MSU's next great QB. Unfortunately, if I had to rank the potential of our four QB's it would go:
And with that said, I also believe Dantonio will put Maxwell out there to start the season again, even if he gets outplayed in the spring. His intense loyalty is both a blessing and a curse. It continues to rear its head both across his depth charts as well as amongst his coaching staff.
Quick! To the internet!!!
How can you post this? Have you watched all of them play? Have you been to practice? I understand you used the word potential but still, come on.
He's using are spartan faith IMO.
Don't worry, he does not have to pass the clipboard to anyone. We good.
"You make sure when you come, you got a little blood in your eye, a little blood in your eye, a little fire in your belly. We there yet?"
The team did fine in 2011. Faith is earned. Certainly, Maxwell is a loyal Spartan and he possesses the most knowledge of the system, but knowledge is not doing. Maxwell had ample opportunity to prove himself in games in 2012, and he frankly didn't show any progress (in fact he regressed as the year wore on). This was markedly different from Cousins' first year as a starter when he, too, made mistakes, but he showed a lot of grit, promise and potential as he got more reps. I'm disappointed in Coach D's statement that Maxwell is the starter, because at most, I think Maxwell has earned equal consideration, and at worst, I think he showed that he's just not up to the job. As Yoda said, "Try not. Do. Or do not do. There is no try."
Or as our local Yoda expresses, "I don't determine playing time. Players determine playing time".
That said, I don't think that Coach D is blind. He likely made the statement about Maxwell in an attempt to preserve the little confidence that Maxwell has left. I think Maxwell will be on a short leash; a change will be made rather soon if warranted. And, if a new starter emerges, we'll have to remember that there'll likely be growing pains for him, too. That sucks because of our favorable schedule. But you can always hope that a young player could surprise, like a redshirt freshman from Texas A & M did this past year.

What are you basing your ratings on?
And, you're asserting that the coaches don't play the best players?
This is good stuff. Please continue...
Jesus, Dad. Get out of here. This is where I internet. God!
I hope Dantonio follows through with the open QB competition. That is the best thing for this program. It was handed to Maxwell because of seniority and we thought he was our only option. We very well may have FOUR quarterbacks. Maxwell needs to decide if he is not only one of them but THE ONE.

At the time he was the only option..
But times have changed.

Yessir, back then we had no choice this season we will hopefully, if Maxwell earns it then so be it.
Oh I agree. Cook was horrendous in the spring game and what very little we saw from him this year prior to the bowl was bad too.
I've been on the Terry bandwagon since he committed and having met O'Connor, he seems like he gets it and has the credentials to be a really good QB. Then again, Maxwell can say the same thing.
Out of chaos comes order. A QB steps up, WR learn how to catch, OL gets and stays healthy, a RB emerges... throw in a cake schedule... Good times!
He plays like the game is moving too fast. Checks down quickly to safe options, and throws the ball too hard.
Once the "fear of failure" creeps into any athletes mind it is very difficult to change. He has all the talent in the world, says all of the right things, but doesn't possess the mental fortitude necessary for his position. He needs a sports psychologist more than he needs coaching.
The position he plays (along with the fg specialist) demands more mental strength than any position on the field.

Roushar is the designated coach scapegoat, are you new?
Improve OL play will help Mad Max or whomever is the starter.
