It'll be high but should not approach Bruce last year(from what people are saying). Also since PJ said a full US tour will be announced for the fall it will cut down on some of the non-USA people flying in for this show. Since it is a special gig people from all over the US are going to be heading in for this(including myself).
PS People were saying that the secondary market for things like this in Chicago are retarded. Scalpers sell tickets right away for insane amounts and then are left holding face value or under for a while up to the show. Once the fanclub sale is finished(ie I can gauge how many people are pissed they didn't get tickets on the PJ message board) you will have a better idea of what the general ticket sale will look like next week.
PPS Ticket price through the fanclub (no added fees) are 84 lower reserved and GA field, 58 upper reserved each.

Notice you are posting in the Pearl Jam thread and not any of the threads about last night...
Thanks for the insight. Should be a heck of a night
Is Pear Jam a euphemism for jizz?
Did PJ have an opening act for the run of shows at the Spectrum a few years ago?
Yes Bad Religion for 2 nights and Social Distortion for 2 nights.
PS This is already running on the Marquee at Wrigley:
thanks for the heads up. will it help to be in the Tenclub for fall tour tickets?
I'm not in Tenclub. I'm not worried.
I'll get tickets, either through my Cubs season ticket group, the box office or the secondary market.
There will be plenty of action on the secondary market from tickets sold to people in the fanclub.
I'll be shocked if demand for Pearl Jam is any higher than Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen, Roger Waters, etc, was.
It hasn't been all that difficult to get tickets to those shows.
True, but those were during full tours for each of those acts. PJ has played what, less than 10 shows in the US in the last 2 years?
PS There was an update to the field seating: it now says GA and reserved field seats. I still expect the Tenclub to get all of those.
It has never hurt...If you do score tickets (they are now using a random lottery for all shows and may or may not restrict how many shows you can apply for) seating is based on seniority. Rows 1-2 and 9-10 are random and you could have the shittiest number and luck out and get up front(that happend for the run at the Spectrum, used my friends 10C membership to get tickets one show and mine for the other 2. His tickets hit second row the third night and his number is way, way worse than mine).
Worst case it gives you a chance at the best tickets and if you get shutout you can try through other means.
100% wrong, with the fanclub for PJ you don't get your tickets until a few hours before the show. And if you are caught scalping them you are blacklisted.
"Memberships purchased after Tues., Jan 22 are not eligible for the current Chicago, IL and London, ON ticket drawing pre-sale. "
Oh well...maybe they're holding Saturday as a potential second show if the first sells out in a certain amount of time.
are you a digital member or analog?
Analog, you pay a little more but you get more cool stuff.
HAHA, this has always been the Tenclubs SOP...When a show tour is announced you need to be a member the day before. You should have signed up yesterday when the Wrigley rumors were running rampant all over the interwebs.
PS There can't be a second show on Saturday, Wrigley is already booked for Kelly Clarkson and Jason Aldean
Will trade accommodations and a local split tail for tix.
If I end up making the trip chances are high I would have 2 extra tickets(either my pair or my friends pair depending on which are worse). That is if we both get drawn for the fanclub lottery.
OK. I am wrong then.
How many members are there in the PJ fanclub?
Wrigley seats 42,000+ for concerts. Are there really enough fanclub-only ticket sales that it will have a significant impact on the secondary ticket market for this show?
Possible for sure. Also like I said, the best seats will all be Tenclub held so the secondary market will be what is left over. Now that said somehow some stuff does filter through the cracks and I have seen regularly bought TM seats on the back of the floor for a few PJ shows(that were surrounded by Tenclub seats) and nobody has ever been able to explain what happened
My girlfriend wants to go to that one.
Couple of questions:
1. Do you know if the entire field is GA for this show? For Bruce Springsteen at Wrigley there was a smaller GA area in front of the stage, and field seats behind and to the sides. I'm thinking that it's likely a similar setup will be used for PJ (I can't imagine them opening up the entire field to GA, but possibly), and while the Ten Club gets all of the GA area, there might be other field level seats sold to the public.
2. Assuming all (or most) of the field tickets go to Tenclub, that would be around 6,500 tickets assuming similar capacity as Paul McCartney and Bruce Springsteen (which was around 42000 people). That seems like a lot of fanclub-only sales relying on people coming to Chicago for this show, when it seems likely Pearl Jam will be touring the US later in 2013. Plus the fanclub is selling lower and upper deck seats as well, correct? So, like 10-15k fanclub sales? Is that realistic? It seems insanely high to me that 25%+ of the stadium would be fanclub only.
What doesn't kill you makes you strooooooonger! Stand a little taaaaaaaaaler!
1. They have now stated that there will be a GA area in front of the stage and then seats behind it on the field. PJ will control all or almost all of the field seats, they always do. Not sure how many seats they will control in the stands, they usually try to get the sections closest to the stage on the sides.
2. I think you are vastly underestimating the power of Pearl Jam and their fans. They have done 2 nights stands at MSG where 90%+ of all the tickets were fanclub. 4 nights in 5 days to close out the Spectrum in Philly with 75-80%+ all being fanclub tickets(the last show was almost all fanclub). For "special" shows like this PJ's fanclub will pretty much get all the tickets they want, if it were Ticketmaster they were dealing with they wouldn't get nearly the amount of tickets they would want.
PS PJ and the Tenclub are open about how they get tickets but are always tight lipped on the number they can control before a show is sold. Sometimes they are told they can sell as many as they can and sell the whole thing, other times they end up with a certain number, and other times they are given a certain number to sell and get more later on.
