Holy Shiat, I'm like Don fooking Draper in my office.
I'm just saying..
There is romance in all of us
Ive always associated vaping with smoking pot out of a vaporizer. you aren't smoking pot at work are you?
yeah love it
It's a newer nicotine-delivery system. Sort of like smoking, but it uses a tobacco free juice with Nicotine and is vaporized with a tiny heating element. It's for those who have smoked or enjoy smoking or chewing but want to rid their lives of Tobacco product.
I have snused for years but used to smoke before that. This is the most enjoyable thing with Bourbon I've experienced in a long time..and the ONLY way without Tobacco I've ever experienced. It is not smoke, but it mimics smoking and gives that immediate nicotine "hit" to the lungs in a totally harmless fashion.
My Mother in Law got on it after I bought her a Blu kit last week and she thinks I'm her hero. She's one of those smokers with an oxygen tank..really pathetic. She already breathes better. Her doctors told her to try it a few years ago, but only recently has the technology (small good batteries and good "smoke juices" being produced now) caught up to truly inspire old-time smokers.
It sort of makes me feel like a dork, and yes, the public is going to just think they're seeing a douche, but I don't care. It is a pretty revolutionary way of freeing oneself from Smoke.
what kit do you use?
They actually make those e-cigarette things with THC now too, so he might be.
Blu..but I'll probably switch to something "bigger" soon. Battery life is a PITA. It's the thing that keeps one from just doing it constantly though
It's a really good starter kit for 66.00 and mimics a traditional cig better than just about any of them..and they are all over the country in the C stores, etc. They've got a big tobacco Co behind them (ie bought them out this past July ) in Lorrilar Corp.
I came here thinking this was a new kind of masturbation that didn't require that I hang myself in a coat closet... bummer.
How long until the "Anybody else gotten into "Gaping?"" thread appears?
I'm actually surprised there hasn't been one already.
Vaping is when you fap to loose vaginas.
What is that, a Titleist? A hole in one...
I heard a while ago that the "juice" contains suspect chemicals still. Has this changed?
Hide yo quarterbackz, hide yo kidz, the MSU defense is here
My Aunt's neighbor has one of these. He really seems to like it.
Recently worked on a project with this Russian dude who used one constantly in our meetings.
He was an idiot. But I'm sure it had nothing to do with the vaping.
Don't post poop!
yeah there was a report a year or two ago of some antifreeze chemical that got in to a batch. The incindent got a lot of air-play by big tobacco as a way to fight it off, as well as the government for a while (gee you think they want tobacco tax revenue?). The stuff is produced all over the place now, and is generally US made for US companies..the biggest and best seems to be Johnson Creek Enterprises out of Wisconsin. It consists of water, nicotine, flavorings, and Propylene Glycol (which is a carrier for vapors to attach themselves, like you see in Rock concert smoke) and cannot be regulated by the FDA because there are no "drugs" in it.
Nor can it be taxed or dissallowed by the govt of any kind because it is not tobacco based or smoke.
Stephen Dorf can put in my vap any time he wants.
I quit smoking cigarettes 2 1/2 years ago using "e-cigs" or "vaping" as it's commonly referred to.
Clinical studies done outside of the US show that as a tobacco cessation method, it has the highest success rate of all tested. Most bars and food service establishments permit use of this product as there is no odor or harmful "second hand smoke". Only a temporary cloud of vapor that quickly dissipates.
Most medical authorities consider vaping as harmless with the slight caveat that nicotine is being ingested. Nicotine is NOT a carcinogen and has physiological affects quite similar to caffiene, It is, however, (obviously) quite addicting.
Popularly marketed products such as "Blu eCigs", V2 electronic cigarettes, etc. are generally considered as entry level products, and not particularly good relative to upscale personal vaporizing devices. This is my opinion also.
The primary components of the solution vaporized are water, flavoring, pharmaceutical grade nicotine, and propylene glycol and/or food grade vegetable glycerin.

Propylene Glycol = antifreeze, brah
"Like ethylene glycol, propylene glycol is able to lower the melting point of water, and so it is used as aircraft de-icing fluid. It is similarly used as automotive antifreeze."
Still likely safer than tar and whatnot, I'm not trying to knock you.
Yes it's the non-toxic kind of antrifreeze that is getting to be more and more commonly used..for some reason there was some batch, somewhere, that got a rap as having Ethylene Glycol found in it. I'd suspect it was a false-rap, even, as someone else might have confused their Glycols
Hell, alcohol is an effective antifreeze. Consumption of it doesn't seem to bother too many here.
PG is in lots of cosmetics, too.
LD50 (oral/rabbit) = 18500 mg/kg. Glycerine (oral/rabbit) = 10000 mg/kg.
Pretty safe to ingest low quantities.
Has anyone tried the Vaportini?
I tried the Trio 51 e-cigarette and it is okay, but battery life was pretty poor and the "cartomizer" piece wears out fairly quickly. I switched to the GreenSmoke system and it is awesome. Much higher quality all the way around and actually cheaper.
Its awesome...so much better than smelling like an ashtray
I need more room for my signature
