Not a big fan of the green student section shirts from last year. I thought they blended in with the alumni/fans too much and didn't provide that profound of a visual student section advantage. Here's to hoping the white shirts make a return this year. Anyone else with me on this?
I tend to agree. Not a big thing but its a nice touch.
I AM KIND, SMART, POWERFUL, BEAUTIFUL, TERRIFIC, AND TREMENDOUS
White shirts are somewhat bad in terms of tailgating. I always fucked mine up with ketchup, chili, jello shots, etc.
I liked the green shirts better.
right but what about pom-poms?!
I thought the green shirt was cooler to have individually, but the student section as a whole looked infinitely better in white.
I'm okay with going back to white if they keep the same quality as the green shirts. The green ones were way better material.
This is a Pallas’s cat. Their round pupils give them an odd human quality. They disturb me...deeply.
I read this as "does anybody hope michigan state goes back to white student section" and i though we had race war on our hands.
Wait, there's a "white student section?"
Edit: Dr. Leo beat me to it.

What about white pom poms?
"If you're worried about Wolverine fans, just move to Pasadena. You'll never have to deal with 'em."
The easiest solution is to just have everyone else wear white
Though as a whole it looks better in white, Green is the color our school is most associated with. How often do you hear someone say I bleed white, or the go white without hearing go green first?
I'd bet that almost half of D1 schools have white as one of their colors. How many do you think are green?
Penn State has a similar setup, they have the dark blue which shows up about the same as our dark "spartan" green. They figured out a long time ago that having white shirts in the stands is the way to go (the Izzone did too). It's just the simple fact that the dark green does not show up well on tv or in person, while white really stands out.
This. No question about it.
I think it would be cooler if the whole stadium was united together in green. As long as the student section is loud, rowdy and on our feet I don't think we will have any problems standing out from the rest of the crowd.
But at the end of the day I'm not gonna complain if we go back to white, it's just not that big of a deal.
I always wanted to see a white-out at Breslin with the Izzone in green.
"I would rather have H.R. Pufnstuf with Teddy Ruxpin as an assistant than to have you in this booth one more week. You're atrocious!"
sweat my balls off the first few games in that dark green shirt
Behold the walls of Sparta: 10000 men and every one a brick.
This. The green just does not stand out. The idea of pom-poms is not bad...either direction...just make them opposite of the shirt
The only way the Green shirt would ever truly stand out is if they got the rest of the crowd to participate in a white out. Since we all know that will never happen, the students should go back to white shirts.
And if the good Lord’s willin’,
I’m a keep on chillin’,
refillin’ and flyin’ high
Why does the student section need to stand out? I almost feel like it helps if the blend in. If they look more like the rest of the stadium, then their noise level and rowdiness may be more contagious to the rest of the stadium.
When others in the stadium can easily point out the student section do they say "oh, those are the students, they will be loud so we don't have to be loud"
Instead, if they blend in and distinction between the students and non-students is less noticeable, maybe it is more like "those sections are being loud, we should be loud too"
Who really cares? Battle Scars I say.
Get one of these

The 2011 shirts were by far the best we have had in my four years at MSU. Usually the students just start wearing whatever is convenient or looks coolest to them by about the time conference play roles around, so I think its most important to make the shirts look badass, which they were last season.
White shirts please.
