Toyota has assembly plants in America.
not sure what your point is? Apple is NOT a Japanese company.
Apple moving production from China back to USA. At least the assembly of computers.
Where's LoneWolfSparty with this news...
Pretty huge news, actually. Good for them.
assembled in the usa by a third party company located in alabama or south carolina where the employees make min wage
How ever will they remain profitable?
Wait, I thought this thread was about JOBS? Oh, wait it is..
Maybe they found a state that removed the child labor and minimum wage laws.
I think of a hero as someone who understands the degree of responsibility that comes with his freedom. -Bob Dylan
Just saying it's not that big of a deal. Apple is going to try to spin this and put a giant MADE IN THE USA!!!!!!!! sticker on the boxes and people will eat it up.
gonna raise prices higher than they already are?
"Put your mother in a straight-jacket you punk ass white boy." ~ Mike Tyson
of course. Also gives them more control over assembly. Something over in China must have made them a little nervous.
Expect new Apple ads soon... and I'm a fan...
Shipping all those foreign child-made components here to be put together is going to be expensive.
This has failure written all over it.
Americans have fat fingers. We won't be able to assemble a computer with all of those tiny pieces and chips. Laptop and iPad assembly is going to be disastrous. Apple needs the foreign child fingers.
The interview process will just be attempting to fold the smallest paper crane possible.
Greatest company in the world. Greatest country in the world.

Every new Macbook will come with a free ticket to Monster Nationals.
Chinese workers are increasingly going to demand higher pay. This, along with shipping savings and better ability to oversee the plants, makes a lot of sense. You will see more U.S. companies return their manufacturing to America in the coming years.
Give an inch and people try to take a mile.
If Apple includes an American flag sticker ill put it on my car next to the Apple sticker. If it doesn't, well, F America.
That and the blatant stealing of any and all of the tech in products produced over there.
Note: Everyone takes shots at Apple about their Chinese production but ALL the tech companies produce over there and most in workshops much worse that the ones Apple uses.
[joke about small Asian penises]
yeah there are already comments on these stories of people saying "now I'll definitely buy one!"
Apple just fooling more people...
yeah but not all companies claim to be the best company in the history of man...
And most of them are foreign themselves.
pretty sure Apple doesn't claim that, even though they are one of the most successful
That's excellent. I'm still not going to buy one but I appreciate that they're doing this. I hope more manufacturing returns to the USA.
