wtf. last minute of the national championship and you don't know how many fouls your team has? So now we have CWebb calling a TO they didn't have and B____ saving some at the end of each half and not knowing the foul situation when his team desperately needed to extend the game.
Pete Thamel @SIPeteThamel 33s
Beilein on why they waited to foul: "I thought we were in the one-on-one. It was a coaching error on my part." Wow.
Gary Parrish @GaryParrishCBS 48s
Just got a text from a head coach: "Some Michigan assistants are gonna get their asses chewed over Beilein not knowing the foul situation."
Yep, sometimes, well, like only 2 times, Michigan doesn't even know how many time outs they have! One can't seriously expect the coach to know these things all the time, the guy doesn't even wear a headset during the game!
RT @CecilHurt: Les Miles apparently learned clock management at Michigan.
He just wanted to give them to the "right" person.
Remember gang...THIS is the man who is going to make their fan base totally forget about Izzo and MSU....NOT! (snicker)

Way to take ownership there Beilein.

I always enjoy when teams get the benefit of refs all game, and then it hurts them at the end when they suddenly need those fouls
If we can trick Coach Krzyzewski into saying his own name backwards, perhaps he will be pushed back to the fifth dimension
Don't most arenas list the foul situation on the scoreboard?
as a coach this is totally inexcusable. not that hard to look at the scoreboard. but maybe he was more worried about the quality of the game the fans were seeing
Oh I agree. His late game coaching was horrific last night. Think about all of the screw ups, he pulled late game:
1. The clock and foul management between 50 seconds and 29 seconds
2. Not utilizing the press until late (one of the two possessions where they broke it out resulted in a turnover).
3. Leaving two timeouts in his pocket.
All of those things happened. Coaches have gotten run out of jobs for less.
"We had fouls to give?"
He told his team the score at halftime what else do you want him to do?
The players are 3 jacking their tails off and the coaches are screwing it up.
This x 1000.
Geez. I've coached youth basketball for three years. 80% of the scoreboards don't list our fouls since the operators are volunteers who can only do time and score. So I. Am frequently checking with the guy doing the book on how many fouls we have for such an occasion.
As the guy above said, arenas have the score, team fouls, individual fouls, and of course.....time out left.
golly gee. You can not be serious. I am going to assume I am 10% and that will be that.
That was about the worst halftime speech in a major sporting event I have ever seen or heard. I understand he was trying to make them feel better about the blown lead, but he was at his bumbling-Beilein worst.
Cardinal Carl had the wrong number of fouls on the scoreboard?

It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Did he show off his sweet 16 ring again?
It was a real motivator for sure.
Not knowing the amount of fouls, and having Burke on the floor (on defense) with 4 fouls cost them (maybe) 2 possessions.
I heard the quotes in his press conference last night. I don't believe it for a second. Beilein is VERY meticulous. He knew the foul situation, I guarantee it. Not to mention, there are assistants that fill him in every dead ball etc. That was a bold face lie. I think he just got caught up in the game.
Beilein was very poor down the stretch that game. Even when he thought they were in the bonus when Dieng was fouled, and it turns out they weren't, he left Burke in. Take him out since he had 4 fouls. Put in a scrub and let him foul until Louisville is in the bonus. If you happen to get a steal, call timeout you can get Burke back in. He had 3 timeouts when the game ended. No reason for that when you let time melt off the clock so Burke wouldn't foul out. UM is very good at extending game when down. Burke's flailing around bringing the ball up court gets rewarded by these crap refs. Another 30 seconds is at least 4 free throws for him. That was a major mistate by UM.
Yep. I said it last night in the game thread that I thought his biggest mistake was not sitting burke, but his clock management at the end. Now we know why, he thought they were in the one and one. A good 35-40 seconds ran off with them trying to get fouls number 6 and 7 when there was a minute on the clock. They took a 2 possession clock and turned it into under a one possession one simply because they didn't foul quickly.
And why was Burke in the game for those fouls? If you know you're going to foul, don't have him in the game when he's got 4 because he can't foul in that situation. Bring in Albricht, get the foul, then sub Burke back in. Terrible clock management at the end of that game. Didn't matter because Louisville made the free throws, but still.

GOTTA agree with Gary Parrish: wtf are his assistants getting paid for? THe old man had a brain cramp sitting out there on his 'stool'....it happens in all fairness. Just proves they are over paid fans. Obviously someone should have clued him in....funny as hell that they didn't btw
Bacari more interested in twitter and what theme his pre-game costume should be??
