Doesn't mean I wasn't a Michigan basketball fan. My dad's an MSU alum, so I remember watching the teams with Drew Neitzel, Shannon Brown, Raymar Morgan, Goran Suton, etc.
Winning a 1 game championship, or going through one of the most grueling championship tournaments in sports is not the same thing at all.
This is almost what I would have posted verbatim. Someone in AA is finding "late-blooming" talent. Beilein runs a "fun" offensive system and the blue-collar stuff like D and rebounding aren't stressed. Seems all of the players are carefree and understand their roles at all times.
Beilein's biggest strength is maximizing offensive production out of moderately athletic players (except this year there is a lot of athleticism with Hardaway, Robinson, and Burke). Only knock on Beilein is he seems to have a problem with good players not getting along with him. Manny Harris, Darius Morris, and Evan Smoctryz all walked right when they could have had 1st All B1G seasons.
Top seeds routinely play garbage teams early in the tournament, and only really face an equal roster in the last two rounds. Sorry, but the NCAA tournament isn't all that grueling for the elite teams when they are big time favorites for half the tournament.

You "remember" them? Those guys all played in the last 6 years! Are you 15?
I could have done without Smotrycz. Never was a fan of his game. On another note, is Gary Harris' shoulder healing up? He may win B1G freshman of the year if he stays healthy.
Beilein may not be dirty but don't use the ethics committee as a reason. Look at Tressel and his book and quotes in it on ethics....
I hate to compliment UM but it sure sounds a lot like your speaking of Dantonio? Probably one of the better to evaluate non 5-star talent in the country and not too shabby at developing them either.
Big 10 basketball is going to be awesome this year! The away games are going to be tough enough... now the home games are not a given. Solid teams on any given night. MSU really needs to start gelling with line ups. It's going to get interesting. Look forward to seeing them get challenged and improve.
It would be the best I have seen if scum was not even close to being ranked like old times and we actually performed on the court and would be in top 5.....I remember getting the Sports Illustrated with the rankings for basketball in it. I always liked guessing where in the top 10 we were and how far passed 50 scum would be.....fuck them

To die in ann arbor is redundant
Not to mention UM is not the 3rd best team in the nation.
He and Manny did not get along at all. I don't ever remember Morris not getting along with Beilein. Smoctrycz is pretty average, not sure if he would start this year.
not cool dude
Maybe I don't know where to look.. but when were Pipkins, Dawson and Smith not 4 star recruits? From 247, when they first became ranked, they were all 4 star recruits..
All I'm gonna say, wolvie, is that correlation does not imply causation.
Pipkins and Dawson are both some of the best at their position. Smith and Conley were kind of under the radar, but that doesn't mean Denard4Heisman knows what he's talking about.
I have never heard of any of those people.
Although I admit, I don't pay a ton of attention to recruiting.

And Smith and Conley are 2013 kids, so they haven't done anything in college ball... how does that prove the ability to identify and developing talent?
I meant that Pipkins was highly touted and Dawson is highly touted so what he was saying didn't make sense. They weren't "sleepers" like Conley and Smith.
I get that, i was talking to Denard4Heisman who used kids who haven't even seen the field yet in college as examples of Hoke's eye for talent.
Gotcha. Yeah obviously they haven't done anything yet really.
He could have at least picked guys like Desmond Morgan and Frank Clark(hahafelonhaha) who had pretty much no BCSAQ level offers and are now starting/playing significant minutes as sophomores.
Once a recruit gets a UM offer, their rating usually goes up
