@HondoCarpenter: B1G 3 UM,OSU,PSU telling recruits how under funded MSU FB is. One told recruit yesterday, "they don't even have $ for recr coordinator" true
This is news? You get what you paid for.
We have new facilities, we have our athletes decked out in Nike gear, and we have a new expansion coming to the stadium. That's a bullcrap approach because the only way these athletes can legally see the money is in ways that they already are. Now, if those schools want to gloat about extra benefits and cash that never sees the light of day, brag away. I would expect OSU and UM to be able to provide more into these kids' pockets than we could. But "not having $ for a recruiting coordinator" has nothing to do with the daily lives of student-athletes at MSU. If you're committed to a program and going to school at that program, whoever the recruiting coordinator is has zero to do with your day to day life.

Tell that to Brad Salem
BTW, from what I hear inside the program, Salem is doing a lot more recruiting orginzation now a days. Warner is still working with QB's Staten still working with RB's and QB's as Bollman works with the line.
Also, Tim Allen, as head of FB operations does a lot of stuff a Recruiting Coordinator would do. Brad Lunaford does a lot as well.
Our staff is large enough, just as big as anyone else's. If a kid is too naive to understand that, or to be swayed by that, then do we really want him?
I did my part sending msu fb a donation yesterday. If everyone on the board did too, we could have one.
Honest question......How the hell does that help with landing recruits???? What exactly do they do??
Fat Hondo and his inaccurate "reporting" are doing far more harm than good to MSU. The university really needs to look at removing some of his "access." He also does not use spell check on Twitter:

@HondoCarpenter Ever heard of Brad Salem you dummy?

Full time ass kissers
Northwestern getting recruits attention by showing how them in the western division gives them a great shot to win the division and win the B1G. They show how Nebraska was supposed to kill Wisconsin in last year's B1GCCG...then they show how this means that they have a shot at the playoff system.
Well scUM does have a "recruiting coordinator" although his official title is "Director of Player Personnel."
Yeah, the first thing a recruit looks at is the program's organizational chart.
If that is the worst thing UM is saying about us I would be stunned.
They just lost their head of football ops to Tennessee and a bigger salary. Good one too, former MSU/Alabama Administrator Mike Vollmer. They replaced him on the cheap with some guy from Southern Miss.
Yes... at this point I want him. If its someone Dantonio wants as well as any other major school, then we can't keep losing them. Thats as bad as saying they weren't "michigan material" or something.
That guy from S. Miss is one of the best ops guys in the country. He was a finalist on football scoop last year or their award. He was at northwestern and Kentucky before taking the S miss job after joker Phillips was fired.
The prestigious football scoop award?!? Well this explains everything.
I really wish these schools would stop saying these true but mean things.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news but we are under funded and we just recently added a full time recruiting coordinator, although that isnt his title. Brad Salem has the title because before a few months ago the "recruiting coordinator" had to be a full time coach according to the NCAA. The haves accross football had other "operations" positions that performed the duties. Rather than try to enforce the rule the NCAA just decided to abolish it. At MSU there is a guy named Matt Mueller that led that position. He was technically an intern making limited money and no benefits. He has now become full time but we are WAY behind the joneses when it comes to our recruiting department. Brad Salem is working his ass off but he does still have to coach. Tim Allen, Brad Lunsford, Ben Mathers, and Dino Folino have had very little to do with recruiting. There is enough from an operation perspective to keep them busy.
Ok, then how bout I've worked in BCS level football since 1994 and he's by far the best operations guy I've worked with. Is that good enough?
But all that said, it is no reason for a recruit to not come here.
Post your resume Joe
This. I don't see why a recruit would give a shit about this. They just want to play football and bang chicks.
Besides, just because MSU doesn't have someone with the designated title of "Recruiting Coordinator" doesn't mean they don't have recruiters. This is dumb.

"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
Dino Follino - director of player personnel.
Dino handles player housing, acts as a liaison for Coach D to our academic staff, and handles the players association, and coaches the specialists. He does very little with recruiting.
Well Michigans recruiting coordinator, chris singletary, is under the same title.
So who is scUM's director of player personnel? Is it not also their recruiting coordinator?
