He already has one. He has MSU, Michigan, OSU, Alabama, Florida, and Notre Dame.
I think the field is set...and am happy 'Bama offered now rather than some late offer where it throws everything back up in the air.
Are we seriously going to have posters melting down everytime Drake gets another offer. Because Bama wont be the last, ND, FL, LSU etc are soon to follow.
Time for Tanfan, Brentwood and Duffy to do a dufflebag project...

I don't understand why we should be mad at other schools for offering a kid who hasn't signed. Up until a guy puts pen to paper to write that signature, everything is fair game in my mind. Recruiting plays a huge part in winning football games, and you gotta do what you gotta do.
There's no reason to be chopping people's heads off.
Yup. I think if he sticks around through spring then he will most likely stay. I'd rather go through this a year from h is signing day rather than next fall or winter.
I believe the line is largely drawn on the recruit letting our staff know first. It's one thing to contact our coaches and talk things over with them, let them know you're thinking of looking around, and see what they have to say about it. It's kids who commit, don't talk to the coaches, and then just pop up at different schools every weekend that they have issues with.
All the recent Drake Harris talk has been about him talking to our coach(es), then meeting with them this weekend, and now he is going to look around after they've said they are ok with it. I think he would have done it either way, but as of now they approve and he (according to him) is still committed here because they all have this understanding with each other. That open line of communication is the important thing.

He's mentioned numerous times in the past that bama has been contacting him a ton since the summer. No news here.
He hasn't visited Alabama.
Didn't he visit Florida or is going to?
I'm sure he already knows he can go anywhere he wants. He either wants to come to MSU or he doesn't. I don't think I'd switch places with any other school at this point.
I'm probably crazy, but I'm confident that Drake will be G&W
Tough love is in effect here|We won't accept you as you are|Instead, we will show you a vision of what you could be and help you achieve it
My guess is the policy (if there is one) only applies to official visits...and those only happen after classes start senior year.

For WR i understand USC, ND, OSU, MSU, most Big 12 schools... but why would a WR recruit such as Harris (or Foster in that matter)... look at Bama? They are set up to run the ball. When your O-line can push around anyone with such ease, why risk turnovers from the passing game when you can control the clock and tempo and just wear down opposing Defenses. Two WRs are currently in the NFL, Darius Hanks (no game stats) and Julio Jones (great player), that is it. They don't really put WR or QBs into the NFL.
If he wants development, game time touching the ball and learning to block, then MSU should be a great fit. We put alot of WRs in the NFL. WRU
What a bunch of pansies on this board. If you want good talent on your team, you need to be ready for other schools to want your player. Why does this place go in semi meltdown mode every time another program offers a recruit? Will Gholston had an Alabama offer. Chill out Jesus, You guys can all jump off a bridge if he de-commits. The kid grew up a State fan chill out, damn you guys are ridiculous.
He also might have watched the BCS Championship game where Amari Cooper showed why he's going to be a superstar. Alabama got a commitment recently from Robert Foster. The one time #1 WR in the 2013 class. Cooper and Black were the #6 and #8 WR recruits in the country for 2012. Like it or not, Alabama is not having any problem luring the top WRs in the country. People want to play for championships.
It is a composite of all 3 major recruiting sites and then graded on a 100pt scale. If the recruit is a 96 or above they are allowed to take any visit with no repercussion. A 90-96 allows for an official visit without prior notification but any unofficial visits will have to be cleared. 85-90 allows visits but all must have been approved. Anything less the 85 you must notify the staff if you are contacted by another schools coach and no visits allowed...
You should know better..
You oversold it.
We're in the mix....But it's going to be a struggle to keep him:
Our advantages are:
2) Playing time
3) He is already a fan of MSU
1) Roushar's offense
2) QB uncertainty (when he comes in as a frosh it's with a new QB assuming Maxwell keeps his job)
3) Not a traditional football power
4) Competing with the highest level schools for his services
5) He's not playing basketball anymore, so Izzo pull is largely out the window
OSU and Alabama getting involved doesn't help, but it's also not unexpected. He's the #1 WR in his class. We're going to have to scrap for him
Yeah, there's an axiom in the South that recruiting of a player doesn't really begin until he gives a verbal.
Agreed. By "very legit shot" I meant that we have just as good of chance as the other big ones. I just don't buy people saying it's over/no chance at all...we're not the overwhelming favorite, but we're definitely going to be in it (and are possibly the favorite).
The thing I don't quite get is he says he committed to MSU cause of Izzo and bball, but now that football is the only sport he's going to play he's going to look at all options...why remain committed? It seems like every school is possible with him, but is there some reason he wants to still be "committed"...for whatever that's worth?
Uh...He said axiom.
