I'm guessing the majority of you want to see Michigan get throttled by Bama in a few weeks. My heart tells me to hope that Boise smashes MSU. But stopping to think about it, with the way teams/conferences are ranked now, shouldn't we be pulling for each other to win all OOC games?
I know, I know, we hate each other. You always root for whoever is playing Michigan even if a Michigan win somehow correlated to saving the life of your mother. And I should feel the same about MSU. But we usually see these situations towards the end of the season; a Michigan win or a MSU win helps the other get into a better bowl by defeating someone higher in the rankings. In that instance, I pull for MSU. I know some here do pull for Michigan in that situation, but most don't.
If the unexpected happens and Michigan beats Bama, would that help the Big Ten profile enough for you to not mind the victory? Or would you rather see Michigan beat regardless of how it might help MSU down the road? Strength of schedule, ranking of conference, etc. is what I'm thinking.
I understand that it's a long shot and that I'm scUM and a dorito and a weasel. Not trying to flame, just wondering what you guys are thinking. I've often looked at the OOC as a chance for OSU and MSU to take losses. But am coming around to see how victories would help Michigan, and the Big Ten, in the long run.
No. Fuck Michigan. I hope Bama beats them by 30.
Brady Hoke is fat
The gain for the conference is not enough to outweigh the overwhelming arrogance that would come out of AA if they were to beat Bama. I want them to lose and lose big.
Calmer than you are
I've never seen so many different threads on this board about a game that has nothing to do with MSU
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
This and I hope saban runs it up bielema style.
Nope. Fuck Michigan. We control our own destiny as of now. Until that changes, still Fuck Michigan.
"If you're worried about Wolverine fans, just move to Pasadena. You'll never have to deal with 'em."
This will not end well for you... FUCK scUM with an aids dick. No way do I ever root for them.
Gonna be a great one!
I try to look at it as a no lose situation. I honestly can't bring myself to root for scUM, and the crowing will be unbearable if scUM wins, but if it results in a net gain for MSU then I'll live with it. On the other hand, if scUM loses, then I'm happy as well.
Roll Damn Tide.
Yes because that's exactly what happened last season
Yeah, that's kind of how I'm looking at the Boise game.
I hope Brady cries at the press conference about the beating his team took. I hope he asks for comfort food for the ride home. I hope UM has a hard time fielding an actual team for the season due to the severity of the beating they took from Alabama. I hope September Heisman has flashbacks to Will Gholston when he looks up at the Alabama DL. I hope at least three UM players say they "don't want to play football no more" after the Alabama game.
Feel free to root for Boise State, though.
Thank you, Denicos.
As much as you think that's a good thing, it's all just a fantasy cause you gonna get your shit pushed in.
Since light travels faster than sound, people appear bright until you hear them speak.
This is what I recently posted in the Boise thread:
"By the way, I'm predicting a 27-17 MSU win."
go green, fuck blue
With this being the biggest opening weekend of college football ever for the state of Michigan, I wouldn't have any problem with um winning (provided that MSU won the night before). It would bring a lot of positive focus onto the state and would make MSU's victory over um on Oct 20th that much better with the voters.
The OP seems to lack a certain brain function that controls common sense
There's no "want to see" about it. It's a "gonna see". And you'll be lucky if it's just a throttling.
Ignoring the fact that we are rivals for a minute, I will address your argument that strength of schedule for the conference is best for all big ten teams.
Say UM wins that game, later loses to MSU and end up 10-2, 7-1. Say MSU ends up 10-2, 7-1 and then loses to Wisco in the big ten championship game. Who goes to the BCS in this scenario?
I'd like to think MSU but history proves otherwise. Even a 55-3 beat down by BAMA and the tilt still probably goes to UM.
And oh yeah, screw scum and their fatass coach and fatter fans
I for one do not hope they beat them by 30. I'm hoping for something more along the lines of 50.
My Wolverines will most likely lose but at least it most likely wont be a beatdown like the one that Sparty faced when they played Bama(7-49 ring a bell?). Talk about an ass whooping
We do you care about the Boise game against little brother? Shouldn't you be worried about one of the Ohios?
While many very funny, typical responses this is the correct one.
