I've always wondered why bananas seen to fly under the fruit radar? Sure, they're not as sexy as citrus or strawberries, not as exotic as pineapples, kiwi, mangoes, among others. Bananas aren't really seasonal, like cherries and other berries, and they're always on supermarket shelves. But why no respect or love for bananas? Are they more of a blue collar no frills durable packaging fruit? You can't put a handful of blueberries in your pocket, but you can put a banana in your pocket. Ok, apples are also packaged well and probably more durable. But bananas taste better and pack more good stuff, they're healthier. And while apples make great pies, banana bread is just out of this world...! I'd personally like to see bananas get more love and respect, which is why I'm considering forming The Banana Recognition Society, the mission is to further recognition and respect for this underrated often overlooked fruit.

How are they under the radar? Healthy snack on the go. It's a mobile fruit in a mobile society.
It's the proletariat of fruits.
Ernie, I love the slogan: Bananas: A mobile fruit for a mobile society
I read the news today, oh boy .. ..
About a lucky man who made the grade
they don't taste well and the texture is undesirable... but damn, they are good for you, and extremely convenient (easy to take somewhere, easy to eat, etc)

I haven't seen this much whining about fruits not getting the respect they deserve since Jailin's "Fab Five" documentary.
I bet ghost gets really bummed when he finds out its just a banana in the dude's pocket.
Personally bananas have a texture that makes me gag for whatever reason. But I have wondered why pears are so far below apples on the list of popular fruit list? Why Isn't pear juice on supermarket shelfs? They are the same size and delicious.
I agree about pears.
I've never eaten a pear. How are they?
Bananas aren't better for you than Apples. Apples have far less calories by weight, so you feel full longer on less calories. Apples have more soluble fiber than bananas. On top of that, Bananas are one of the few fruits that have fat, and they are also radioactive.
Fun facts: Bananas share almost 50% of the same DNA as humans. Bananas are also more radioactive than TVs, compters, and cellphones.
Wow...a ridiculous gHost thread turned into a serious discussion about fruits.
I gotta side with Ernie McCracken, though. I find Bananas are great choice for when you're at the caf or just don't have time for a full snack. An apple or a pear is a real time commitment, man. That and you get the peel stuck in your teeth and all that. Fuck that noise.

This shit is bananas. B-A-N-A-N-A-S.
LIke the Banana. Hate the 72 hr window of opportunity to eat them when you bring them home from the store.
The indoctrinated will no longer be able to deny it, only defend it.
I actually thought this was another viggio thread. Wait same person.
Keeping the sunshiners in check since 2000.
Or if you buy them green, they go straight from green to ass in that time frame
Also, due to the high potassium concentration, a total of 26 bananas consumed in one sitting will cause your heart to stop, so don't do that.
Bananas maybe radioactive, but at least they didn't evolve. God made them to fit perfectly in our hands from the beginning in Genesis and made them easy to peel with our fingers which God also made. It's truly an amazing fruit. Praise to Him.
Cucumbers are better because there is no wasted core, pit, or peal.
Cucumbers are a member of the gourd family Cucurbitaceae. They develop from a flower and are classified as a fruit.
Bananas are technically berries. Mulberries, however, are not berries, but clusters of individual tiny fruits.
To achieve great things, two things are needed; a plan, and not quite enough time. -- Leonard Bernstein
A banana peal and beer helped power a Mr. Fusion that allowed time travel to to the year 2015.
I like cold bananas, but I have to say, that undesirable texture when warm is disgusting. I don't understand how people can eat warm bananas like it's a normal thing. That's just as bad as chugging a glass of warm milk.
