tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
And Bielema has wasted zero time in shitting on his former team.
"Bielema, who lost the previous two Rose Bowls and became coach at Arkansas on Tuesday, joked, "They might finally win one.""
If anybody comes in here and posts a shirtless picture of Alvarez, I will kill you.
I don't know.....it's kinda strange. On one hand I feel like dude is a former ass kicker and if he wants to coach one more Rose Bowl let him: it's a glorified exhibition game any way you cut it. They're 8-5 and will be an underdog, so what harm is there?
ON the other hand, it seems bizarre in that they SHOULD have a head coach in place by then........and then how would that work? Just odd overall IMO.
What if Barry decides he's the best man for the job? Permanently.
well, hell yeah I think that's a distinct possibility at this point. I would NOT be happy as a vadger fan/alum if that unfolded. Dude is 70....could be a joepa part deux where you can't get his ass outta there. Yeah, Leo...distinct possibility.
Welcome back Kotter......er........Barry
My seats at SS. My driveway in winter.
He is 66 not 70.
Steroid program needs a boost from Barry.
Bill Snyder did it with pretty good success.
No doubt in my mind that Stanford blows Wisconsin out now. No way Alvarez is mentally sharp after all those years away from the sidelines. He was definitely a good coach back in the day, but he's so far removed from all those coaching decisions that he used to have to make with great frequency.
On the plus side for Wisconsin fans, his clock management skills can't be any worse than Bielema's.
"Well, the new coach can spend time recruiting while Barry is coach-... wait... you said WISCONSIN??? oh nevermind. I thought you were talking about a team in one of the top 5 viewing markets. Wisconsin will be fined...for...reasons."
I gotta think Barry will be on the sidelines as a figure head and make the calls on things like TOs, going for it vs. kicking, etc. but will leave the main game prep to the assistants. I also can't imagine he would do this full time...he's no spring chicken and has his hands full as AD, not to mention he wasn't doing his best coaching at the back end of his career. All in all though, I think this is AWESOME. Apparently the team captains approached him about it following the BB announcement, and I would think this will raise the spirits of the team and get the chili hot for Badger fans attending the game. Interest and attendance will definitely not suffer.
Also, I may be wrong here, but I don't think that even if we did have a new coach in the next few weeks, that he would be on the sidelines for the bowl game. Let's game the system like OSU and get him on the recruiting trail!
good point: worked for KSU.....my bad on his age btw...don't know why I thought he was 70. 66 isn't that bad really. He could and would probably do it for roughly 4 more years (one recruiting class) if he can't find anyone satisfactory. The alums and fans love him so.........it's not a reach.
I don't GAS about BB, but isn't he poking fun at himself with that comment, not crapping on his old team, as you suggest?
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read. - Groucho Marx
I imagined as Bielema being a douche saying that his players at UW still haven't won one, which probably isn't a huge stretch.
Wouldn't that be shitting on himself? He doesn't seem like the sharpest guy when they show him on the sideline anyway.
He's definitely poking fun at himself.
Alvarez is awesome. He built that program and said F it, I'll run this shit.
Were wisco fans really all that upset about losing the rosebowls?

Kind of like Hoke..
That looks shopped...
