Alvaraz is a good coach..he is also the coach that lost to JLS in blow out fashion when Wisconsin was top 10. Do you guys remember that game? It was cold as hell and I think it was Senior Day and we ended 5-7.
I do....word has it that johnelle snuck in the MSU Motion team into Wisky's hotel the night before the game. Vadgers indeed......
Is Alvarez not a badass looking fat man in that pic or what!
Well, THERE'S a surprise.
Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
That'll be next.
With this quote, Bielema is too stupid to understand that he is actually shitting upon himself.
Good thing Badger fans (who come on the RCMB) are still sticking up for this dickhead.
If you can do a half-assed job of anything, you're a one-eyed man in a kingdom of the blind.
- Kurt Vonnegut
Please don't ever say that again.
"RCMB: You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainry." - some dude from MgoBlog
Kind of hot when it is Alvarez.
After this incident, I had a hell of a lot more respect for Alvarez than I ever did for Bielema. Better coach and better person, hands down.
Sucked to lose but in the end getting there is the real prize... Winning is just the the icing on the cake. Also not sure if I'm 10% here, but that photoshopped picture is actually BB. I'm sure jen deals with it now but when he gets run outta Fayateville, she'll take her half and be on her way.
Would also be one hell of a fuck you from Barry to Bret for bailing on him like this if they can go in there and get it done. I can hear it now post game..."I'm not sure why Bret had so much trouble with this game", then shrugs as he rides into the sunset 4-0 in Rose Bowls.
Go Retro... Bring back Corso, Bruce, Perles, Mackovic, Green
I want to see Keith Jackson come back and call this game and talk about wolves and the majestic moon slowly rising over the san gabriel's, and dusk settling over the cardinal and red clad masses, and all that kind of shit.
To me this says a lot of Alverez's opinion of himself...and also what little he thinks of Assistant Head Coach/RB Coach Thomas Hammock (and top recruiter).
Why not let him take the lead and Alverez step in to back him up...??? Certainly Alverez has other things to do over the course of the next month...
Think about the RB's Minny and Wiscy have had under Hammock...
I'd love it if Coach D used this angle to recruit Hammock into the fold!
I was at that game, It was a cold and rainy day, but not an ugly day it was a beautiful day.
The Depends-ables.....cause they all wear depends..get it?? Um..yeah...
Definitely a nice morale boost. I like Papa Badger too; classy coach.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
I agree. Alvarez looks arrogant.
The team captains approached him and asked him to do it. Plus he's been there before, this shows commitment to the guys and shows he's got their back. I think it'll be pretty classic that he's dusting off the whistle for one last shot in Pasadena. Bruco made a good point yesterday though...while it'll be epic that he's back, he needs to put all the spotlight he can on the assistants and the players. Especially if they win...which I'm sure he'd do.
Anyone who thinks Alvarez is actually going to be micro managing the game is stupid. He will coach for figurehead purposes, but probably wont be making a lot of key decisions.
Just like JoePa at the end. Figurehead on the sidelines and has people underneath him touching people inappropriately.

I think this is actually a pretty great story. As it was said, it will give a little magic back to the players and rub out some of the stink left from Bielema leaving as fast as he did.
Don't get me wrong, I am definitely not a Wisconsin fan, but I respect that the players approached him and I "respect" the situation that BB left the team in.
In response to the BB comment about finally winning a Rose Bowl, I think the somewhat disgusting thing is that he is only a couple days removed and he already referred to them as "they." To think of how long he has been with the team and everything he has presumably gone through with the players, to not say "the team" or something similar is pretty sad. If I was a player and felt that it only took 3 days for the coach to get out the door and distance himself from the team, I would be really deflated.
BB is one of the biggest douches in sports. Seriously. I'm not surprised he'd say something like that.
The dude will last three seasons in the SEC and regret leaving Wisc.
I think you'd be surprised. I bet they would welcome it.
This could be Barry's way of evaluating the assistants to determine which one to promote to head coach. He gets down on the field with them, sees their game planning ang play calling, and makes his decision. It also keeps BB off the coaching staff, if they think they have a shot at HC. Pretty smart if you think about it.
