At first I read this as "Bears hire Tieman" and I popped serious wood.
1. Can I now buy Bears tickets with Canadian currency?
2. How long is the Canadian national anthem? I want to know how long I will have to stand for anthems at a Bears game.
I just dont get the Cutler hype machine. Horrible mechanics, terrible decision maker. Done think I dislike him because of his attitude. While I think it poor, I am speaking pure mechanics and decision making. They made the super bowl with rex grossman minimizing mistakes. They aren't that far off. If he is coachable, and it appears iffy, he can be a serviceable qb but nowhere near the hype.
He doesn't get a ton of hype. Who is hyping him?
He's lumped in with those middle of the road quarterbacks like Rivers and Romo. Nobody (fans or analysts) thinks he's up there with Brady, Rogers, Brees, Manning, etc.
You mentioned they made the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman, They were one touchdown (21-14) away from making the Super Bowl with Cutler, and that was a game where Cutler got hurt and they almost won with one of the worst quarterbacks to ever make multiple starts in the NFL leading them in the second half.
Funny you mention Rivers, and Romo. Another two overhyped guys with horrible mechanics.
I dont have a dog in the race as I am not a bears fan, but he was a first round pick, correct? Kiper loved him. Jaws and Steve young love him. Coaches have been fired over him. I just dont see it. Then again, I am just another joe with an opinion.
No hate for him, just dont see the talent.
Signs point to "no."
The Chicago Bears seemed hopeful they would be able to hold on to defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli in the wake of firing head coach Lovie Smith at the end of the season. However, with new head coach Marc Trestman in place, Marinelli may no longer want to stay in Chicago.
Thank you, Denicos.
I watched the press conference today. He wasn't able to answer most of the questions about personnel, system, or strategy because he still needs to sit down with Emery and evaluate the team. But the number one thing I took from the press conference was that this guy is a very smart dude. Let's hope that translates to wins.
How many times did he say "eh" in the press conference? I didn't count because I was too busy laughing after he said the Bears job was maybe the most coveted of jobs in sports.
So is this guy the next savior for the Bears that's gonna put them over the top and deliver a Super Bowl?
First it was Cutler, then it was Peppers and finally it was Marshall
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
This is the absolute final piece that will guarantee championships. Unless of course it's not then the next hiring, firing, draft pick, free agent signing, cutting, #Teoing, will definitely be the super final piece to infinite glory.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
I missed where that was said in this thread

+1 for that alone.
you know he isn't actually Canadian right?
Go Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Pioneers.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand
Marinelli ain't coming back.... on a side note I really hope that he somehow tries to integrate a play with the wideouts running forward for 20 yards before the snap... and then he gets flagged and....
so mattyfresh and so clean
You know he is from Minnesota, right? That is pretty much Canada.
Edit: He also looks like a hockey coach more than a football coach.

Full audio of today's press conference if any Bears fans are interested...
Jim Prisching//AP Photo Here's full audio of today's Bears press conference at which Marc Trestman was introduced as the new head coach of the Chicago Bears....
caught most of it live, biggest positive I took was that he didnt pander to the Bears stupid...no references to The Fire and the Passion, Getting off the Bus Running, Bear Weather, Beating the Packers, or the 85 team (except to say he coached against it his first year coaching in the league).
Agreed. Any idea who they'll get for defensive coordinator? I have to imagine, simply because of our personnel, that whoever they hire will keep a similar defensive scheme.
A CFL guy? Weird.......
"No one cares what you know, until they know how much you care." Mark Dantonio
How many coaching jobs did this guy have? 50?
