I'm about to fill out my bracket. In my head, I have the Spartans going to the Final Four. What are some problems that you guys might face in your bracket?
Fast teams or physical teams, teams that run, and teams that start with an "M".
And here's a pic of Jenna Jameson with brown hair just for good measure.
Until Izzo stops going to final fours, I think it is stupid to not take MSU. Hell he already has a 50% completion rate on getting that far. Looking at the bracket nothing terrifies me, people continually make the mistake that MSU plays a certain way. It is kind of true, MSU plays whatever style the opposing teams play. If it is an up tempo team, they may try to slow down the game, if it is a slow plodding team, they will probably try to make it up tempo. Izzo lives for this time of the year. Every year the experts pick someone to upset MSU and most years they end up saying they should have gone with an Izzo coached team to make the FF.
We beat UK in the FF if both teams make it, I do not want to see UNC in the championship game just because of history.
Now knowing what 1995 is like all over again! Thank you 247 technology!!
Dude... SO far. After we win the national championship, we're just gonna keep playing games. People will be like "why are they still traveling to sites across the country even though the tournament is over?" And we'll be like "bring it, bitches."
This is a team that overachieved and wound up with a #1 seed... In terms of gutty teams that overacheived... we've been here before; in 1999, 2005, and 2009.
To quote Tom Izzo, March is all about the match-ups...
In the Izzo era we've never not gone to the final four as a 1 seed.
So I think its pretty obvious we'll be making plans for New Orleans before its all said and done.
As far as your mother went last night.
If we can find a way to extend basketball season all the way to mid June, that would cut down on the OT season and make football season come quicker!
I don't know what it is, but today is definitely one of your most annoying days on this board. There's been about ten posts where I've just had the sudden urge to bitch slap you.
Every year I do two brackets - MSU as NC, and one 'realisitic.' Realisitic is us losing to UK.
He's so in your head . . .
Anyways, I think a FF is not a stretch for this squad. Memphis could be a pain, but neither 4/5 is scary. Mizzou and Marquette are both small squads and MSU's size could really tear them a new one.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
You should write down MSU in the Final Four in pen every year. Half of the time you'll be right. MSU will treat you better than pretty much any other club in that respect.
Going all the way then. I like it.
Going to take down the Globetrotters again?
I think the region sets up well for us. It's a chic pick, but I think it's also unwise to pick a young, untested Memphis squad (or St. Louis!) to beat MSU in the round of 32. Use permanent marker writing MSU all the way to Phoenix.
Anything can happen in the Sweet 16, and it often does. Still, I think State has a clear advantage over Louisville and/or New Mexico. MSU is a good bet to make the Elite 8.
The Mizzou/Marquette match-up is trickier. No one's gonna call you stupid for picking either of those teams over MSU. So I'd say definitely take MSU to the Elite 8 at least. That's my best effort at neutrality. Good luck, Mr. Cock.
How far will be get, RubberBand?

Wait, we have a basketball team?
You're going to want your tiebreaker score for the natty to be MSU winning 120-3
Michigan is a tough team to predict. Away from home hasn't been all that kind this year. I'd like to think I'm fairly confident that they'll beat Ohio. After that, it's a crap shoot and just depends on which team comes to play. A very big problem that Michigan has in big games is Hardaway deciding that he's the focus of our offense and trying to showcase his skills for everyone at home. I see this team as having some pretty good leadership and don't see them taking anything for granted. I see them in the Sweet 16 and probably done after that unless they get extremely hot from three point land.
