I wonder how difficult a transition it's going to be for bielema to stop saying "On wusconsin" and start saying "Pig soooey" after everything he says.
And yes, he is a meathead. Other than the money, I think this is a bad move for all parties involved.
Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
Source for Barry coaching was one of TOS's. His wife is not from Wisconsin. Not sure where you got that, she used to vacation here in the summer to visit some family but that's all.
A meat head who went to the Rose Bowl
There are $5 million reasons that he will get for probably at least a guaranteed 5 years as to why he left. The reason he left is because Wisconsin wasn't going to pony up when they believe his success has a lot to do with issues not related to his head coaching prowess. We will find out in 5 years who was dumb, Wisconsin or Arkansas.
One of the sideline reporters at the championship game asked Barry kind of joking if he would ever return to coaching. He just kind of smirked and never really answered. Wonder if he already knew?
My mistake...she has family there and went to school at UW, and I believe worked in the state for a few years.
What's a TOS?

Arkansas has been searching for a coach all season. Of course he knew. He was probably calling the offense during the B1G Championship game.
I read on the UW board that Barry and BB have both known for a few weeks, but that doesn't mesh with some of some of the timelines of how this went down.
Terms Of Service.
Actually I think Dantonio was calling the offense. He has called our only drives to result in TDs this year so look what a whole game at the helm looked like.
Reasons why Bielema leaves Wisconsin for Arkansas:
1) It is about the money
2) Better support from donors (Walmart, Jerry Jones, etc.) to upgrade facilities and pour more money into Football.
3) He might be able to hire highly qualified assistants on his staff (After Chryst and others left..he probably realized that Wisconsin wasn't going to pay the money to get a top notch assistant to help him win games going forward and didn't want to deal with the mess). Not every coordinator can be as good as Roushar!
4) He finally realized that with the recruiting rules in the B1G, Wisconsin will never get a favorable advantage over other programs in the conference or even out of conference. In the SEC everyone cheats, lies, and etc. He can probably do the same at Arkansas and get away with it.
5) Possible fall out with Barry Alvaraz.
Beilema will collect $3.2M/yr and have a tough time at AK. Besides 'Bama and LSU the SEC West has Texas A&M and don't think AK native Malzahn who just took the Auburn job won't be visiting his old stomping grounds at Shiloh Christian HS and Springdale HS two football factories.
Still think when the smoke settles AD Alvarez gets some "help" from the donor base and Paul Chryst is back in Madison.

I think there's probably more to that last point than we know. I don't know anything about bielema's relationship with alvarez, but he sure seems like a giant prick.
Hearing rumblings that recruiting violations on the way at UW.
From what I understand is they have or "had" a great relationship. Alvaraz gave him his first job in the big time and also pretty much trusted him running his program that he built. Bielema in his interviews always credits Alvaraz. I think the turmoil after the loss to Oregon and the fall out of the coaching staff may have tarnished his relationship with Alvaraz. Plus he is a defensive coordinator..I never think of Wisconsin as a defensive juggarnaut. The offense is what has been helping them win games the last 3 years.
Go Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Pioneers.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand
doubt it but wouldn't be surprised. This is a crazy move..he must have hired Nick Saban's agent.
BB had to have been unhappy with something about UW. Alvarez, recruiting limitations, criticism, Meyer.... something was rubbing him the wrong way because that is too nice a gig and he had too much success for him to bolt for a second rate SEC program in a division with Saban, Miles, a rising TAMU, and a dangerous Auburn. He could seriously be in the cellar every year he's there.
Maybe it will come out, but it's hard to see why he made this gamble - if he falls on his face in LR, will someone like an Iowa even take him? I guess it will depend on numerous factors, but he could be in a bad spot in 4 years if this doesn't work, which many seem to think will be the case.
Maybe the donors can be happy that Bret left the program when they are barely in the hunt to win their own division even with a down Penn State program...
A friend is a UW booster - this is what he told me. Not sure whether to believe it or not.
Smart move. The writing is on the wall for that division.
How? The only team to beat in that division is Ohio State. Penn State is on probation so whatever they do doesn't matter for the next 3 years. In the SEC West he has to beat Alabama, LSU, Texas A&M, and a decent Mississippi State program?
Bielema is a good coach. Sure, he's called his fair share of bonehead plays and had some clock management issues but Coach D has too: calling the punt block in the championship game last year, the stupid fake FG @ ND last year come to mind. I'm sure if you go through this year's game threads you'll find even more. That said, it's a lateral move money grab and playing in that SEC division will be tough and moving from a great college town to a shitty, poor state, at a mid tier SEC school doesn't make much sense to me at all, plus he's a Midwest guy now trying to recruit against saban and miles lol good luck Bret, you'll need it.

Honestly, Arkansas look like the rubes here. The only reason Wisky was even in the B1GCG was because OST and PSU were on probation, and with no miracle transfer QBs on the horizon it seems clear their little run atop the division is over. Brett's stock isn't getting any higher, that's for damned sure. I just don't understand how anyone could listen to him talk or look at how he's managed big games and think he's remotely good at what he does. His success was LARGELY due to Chryst...he floundered without him and should have lost those Utah State and Northern Iowa games. He's a blithering idiot. But a cagey one....i'll give him that.
I guarantee he's doing this just to get away from the Big Ten for a few years and wait out Ferentz. That's the job he wants. he'll have 4 spectacularly mediocre seasons in Arkansas losing to Saban and Miles every year and playing in the Gator Bowl and then Kirk will get fired and he'll get to come home....and the rest of the conference will rejoice
You think Bielema is capable of teaching/running something more elaborate?
