Jim Tre$$el and Urban Liar???
Maybe Bielema was cheating and the NCAA was about to enter the picture, and so, he left.
stop posting. You are an embarrassment to MSU fans everywhere.

Just a little sensitive. May be they subconsciously wanted MD to take the Hog job (if the OC went with him)?
No, the point was they needed NC State to essentially give him the boot, or UW had a QB mess on their hands last year. That's pretty lucky to essentially be screwed at QB, then have NC State basically boot a NFL QB off their roster.
How did O'Brien turn out for UW this year?
Not well, which is exactly why people who seemed to think that UW had some distinct advantage by taking transfers are morans. Not every QB transfer is Russell Wilson. So no, we don't need to create a rule for those transfers as some were implying. And yes, we would have had a problem on our hands without Wilson due to Phillips and his 14 ACL tears and Budmayr with his chronic elbow condition.
And even with Danny O'Brien sitting the bench we still won the championship. We deserved to go because the other programs ahead of us fucked up and we took it to Nebraska when it mattered most.
Next year OSU will be back in a big way, but we should have a great squad and also be very strong with Houston, Stave, and DOB squaring off for the starting QB position. I expect it to go Stave, Houston, DOB when all is said and done.
Edit: I've seen some Badger fans mentioning Narduzzi as an option

Ummmmmm....did she say 'Brad' Bielema at beginning of video? wtf....pretty sure she did. Brutal....as for Wisky's new coach, I was listening to Jim ROme today and they had a college football guru on and he was pretty certain they are courting Darrel Bevell, currently Seattle's O.C.: If so that's a damn good hire IMO. Here are 10 others mentioned in an Athlon article FWIW:
BTW: If I were Alvarez I'd hire Butch Jones or Bevell.......in that order
Short list (of fan preference) based on my browsing seems to be
1) Chris Petersen (HIGHLY unlikely)
3) Everyone else
Poor Badger Balls. It wasnt all that long ago you wanted meat run out of town. Curious, are you conflicted with his departure? Like the piece of tail you break up with but now that its gone you miss it ???
Bucky going back to a bottom feeder?
I never wanted him run out of town, but said he had probably one year left to turn it around after going from 9-4 in '07 to 7-6 in '08. And he definitely turned that trend around.
This is definitely a critical hire for UW that will affect the direction of the program for the foreseeable future. Our program is much like Iowa with a little better in state talent and a better recent history. It's not long ago that Ferentz was the hottest name in coaching, and now he's being exposed as the most overrated coach in college football heading up an absolutely terrible team.
What the fuck did I just watch?
I didn't realize Chryst was born in Madison and played QB for the Badgers. How the hell does he not take that job?
Are you actually this stupid or are you being intentionally dense?
It's okay to step out from the comfort of your black and white world, friend. I promise that considering all the gray in between won't hurt too much.
There are fortunate programs and unfortunate programs, and everything in between. To acknowledge that Wisconsin has capitalized on some good luck (what else would you call this season, when their ONLY other competitors were prohibited from playing for the Title?) won't hurt your dire attempts to appear reasonable and rational.
Enjoy the ride while you have/had it. Definitely a critical hire or time to start sweating out being bowl eligible on the last game of the season...oh wait...
I've seen it said that he's a pretty loyal guy and wouldn't want to bail on Pitt after one year, which may or may not be true. The more likely issue is that he was apparently not super thrilled that he didn't get the HC job back when they hired BB. Some say he was lead to believe he would get it and that created a little animosity. But others have said that if the money is right and it's your alma mater/dream job, you get over any grudges pretty quick.
Didnt Chryst just come out today and say he was commited to Pitt??? Obviously, words mean zip but he didnt have to make that statement.
true....word has it Chryst has said he's staying at Pitt and Peterson doesn't make alot of sense: would be like Bielema going to Arky and not having any recruiting inroads whatsoever....could work but who knows. I really think Jones makes sense and could be there for a decade or more, but it's pretty obvious that won't happen or there would be news to that effect.
So.....really dunno, but they probably should've just paid meathead honestly. Money always smoothes over butt hurt feelings from overzealous alums and fans. JIst ask Les Miles or Mark Richt.
In the end, this is all just a giant pain in the ass distraction that wasn't really necessary IMO. Good coaches are few and far between.

@footballscoop: Hearing from coaches that Barry Alvarez will coach the team in the Rose Bowl.
My Whiskey Blog
CB can speak to it, but supposedly he burnt bridges on his way out: specifically taking UW assistants. Bielema and Alvarez weren't too happy about it....
Ploy to sell more tickets to UW fans. I'm all for it (as long as it's only one game)
Apparently this has legs....
Wisconsin athletic director Barry Alvarez, the former football coaching great, said he hasn’t ruled out coaching the Badgers in the Rose Bowl after the surprise departure of Bret Bielema.
I'm not certain on the reaction, but I know no one was thrilled with losing some of the guys we did. Joe Rudolph was a big loss especially. Though I will say that they replacements have done a pretty solid job on the recruiting trail and shoring up the position positions.
Thank you, Denicos.
That looks pretty impressive. Makes me think that this wasn't totally about money. Some of the boosters maybe didn't like Bielema the most or something.
