The only guy that we were really in on of theirs that we might still want would be DE Alec James. Of course that depends if the kid wants to look around but that's the name to look for.
Arkansas was just going to go with the biggest name that said yes... not necessarily what was the right hire.
Not even New Years Day yet and this conference is already losing to the SEC..
We'll see, but they definitely have some guys we offered or expressed interest in. I can think of DE James, athlete Marcus Ball and LB/RB/TE Ramesh. I'm sure there are more I'm missing.

Or teams that were cheating! Or maybe it's Delany's fault! Or the refs!

Wow. Don't know what to make of this. I didn't see that coming at all.
Atleast he'll fit in with the fans down there
Wasn't Wiscy in competition wit MSU for Dawson?
Roushar would be a perfect fit at Wisconsin.
It's not entirely surprising. The guy punched his ticket to his third straight Rose Bowl (even though he'll probably leave prior). He's not going to win a natty title at Wisconsin, so why not try his luck in the SEC (and take the cash while he's at it). That said, SEC is far more competitive.
Not sure why Arkansas would be a better job than Wisconsin? It's a shitty, poor, ugly state and you're competing against saban and miles... Good luck Bret lol

I'd seen rumors on Twitter, and had taken them for fake stuff because it was so ridiculous a notion. Shows what I know.
Thank you, Denicos.
Moves it to Florida(?), Michigan, Michigan State.
"We at the Big Ten do not want to be like the SEC in any way shape or form." - Bret Bielema 2011
They were "in the mix" but the main competition is Michigan and Ohio State.
Dont forget OSU
Maybe Brett is sick of cheese and wants some southern fried chicken? His career decisions are more than likely based on his food cravings at that moment.
Wait a minute -- he just got married, right? Where's tWife from? Arky? Down south somewhere? He's caving.
I gotta admit this is completely shocking. Bielema is a Midwest guy, born in Illinois went to Iowa and coached at Wisky with little ties to the SEC. I personally never considered him a great head football coach, but 3 Rose Bowls in a row no matter how you did it, is pretty impressive. I just think Bielema is more of a system coach. He's never impressed me with Xs and Os, game management and even with recruiting (other than OL) and I just don't see him being able to lure tons of top talent to Arkansas, but I've been wrong before. This will be an interesting hire for Wisconsin, because you'd assume they'd want to get someone who's familiar with their style of play and system. Maybe try Chryst or Bostad. It does kind of reflect on the BT badly when the Rose Bowl team's coach is willing to leave to an middle of the pack or worse SEC team.
Bielema wants to coach the Badgers in the Rose Bowl still after this?
Colleague Mark Schlabach reports that Bielema still wants to coach the Badgers in their upcoming Rose Bowl appearance against Stanford.
What about when SEC coaches like Meyer leave for the B1G? Sure, he had prior connections, but do you think that that makes the B1G look inferior?
But he was handed the keys to a team that went to bowls on pretty much an annual basis by Alvarez. Arkansas may not be the same deal.
Bielema bitches about Meyer recruiting a committed kid and then goes to the SEC
I guess MD will have to find a new in-conference bitch.
Easyyyy now let's not get too outta hand here
