FYI, Stubhub is flush with cheap tickets for sessions #1 & #2 since the ticket packages have hit the various fanbases' hands.

Holy crap, you aren't kidding.
Upper deck baseline for $7. Those seats suck, but I doubt the arena will be full for the first two sessions, so it would be easy to move down.
Session #1 & Session #2 are seat hopping sessions, even for my 50 year old ass.
Do you remember from the last time in Chicago, is it easy to get into sections you don't have tickets for? I kind of remember the ushers near our section being a pain in the butt. Even as I ran to the bathroom during a quick media timeout I had to show them my ticket to get back to my seat. Maybe this was only an issue in the lower bowl, but I remember it being a real pain and thought it would make it difficult for seat hoppers like yourself
And if the good Lord’s willin’,
I’m a keep on chillin’,
refillin’ and flyin’ high
Yet another reason why Chicago sucks.
Come the busy sessions, the ushers get tougher as they should. Session #1 is lucky to have one usher every other section. Look for me on the front row!
blocking EVERYONES view :)
Oh I always do. It's like playing "Where's Big Doug" every day of the tournament
Been going to the BTT since it's first year in Indy. I really loved how the tournament took over the city. I was bummed when it moved to Chicago but my buddies and I can make anything fun. This year we are taking the train from Metro Detroit and packing a cooler for the ride. As for tickets to the games... We actually don't even go to the games. We just pub crawl and watch all the games on TV. On Saturday we do a Big Ten Pub Crawl and hit every school bar for a beer or 2. In Indy it was easy... it will take some work in Chicago to hit them all but it will get done.
I always make a google map of the school bars... might as well share it with the rest of the lushes out there.
good luck with the pub crawl man, st pattys will have this city torn apart on saturday
If you're going to hit a "team bar" for every team, I would suggest not following the B1G tourney guide and instead going to the official team bars. Most of them are on the north side. We could pull a list together if need be.

Please do! None of us know Chicago very well. I would much rather do a real school pub crawl than just the ones designated by the Tourney guide.
Northwestern - Lion's Head (I believe)
MSU - Barleycorn Lincoln or Hi-tops or O'Malley's West (same street as Lion's Head)
Illinois - Durkin's
Iowa - Merkle's or Barleycorn Wrigley
Wisconsin - Will's Northwoods Inn
Minnesota - Red Ivy (I think)
Michigan - Diag
Indiana - Kirkwoods
Purdue - Waterhouse
Ohio State - McGee's
Penn State - Used to be Dark Horse, but not sure anymore
Take out Barleycorn (unless your 23 and under, i kid, i kid chitown, I know you go there for the "food") and put in Tin Lizzie for MSU, if you are near Wrigley, Stretch is a good place as well
Prost is a Wisco bar as well (and good german beer) DAS BOOT!
the MSUAA has a serious hard on for mad river, personally I think the place is pretty weak.
Joes on Weed is an IU bar
good call on the Diag, say hi to my friend Alex the bartender
McFadden's downtown is also an MSU bar
get the new Nike MSU font: http://tinyurl.com/spartansfont
Well, I also threw it in there because, if the weather is nice enough, the beer garden is great.
Prost doesn't get a big crowd for UW games, but the beer and food are good.
What he said. Beyond a couple of the "official" bars, (the Illini have a good location) no real alums will be in them.
There is a pretty tight grouping of B10 bars on the northside:
Iowa: Four Shadows (Ashland and Diversey)
Indiana: Kirkwood (2934 N. Sheffield Ave)
Illinois: Schoolyard (3258 N Southport Ave)
Penn State: ??:?
MSU: Hi Tops (Lincoln and Altgeld) or about 10 others
Michigan: Duffy's (420 W Diversey)
Ohio State: Gaslight (Racine and Montana)
Nebraska: Birds Nest? (Southport and Altgeld)
Wisconsin: Will's Northwoods Inn (Racine and Wellington)
Maybe someone can fill in the blanks. I don't know of any Purdue/NU/Minny or Penn State bars, but I'm sure they exist.
Dark Horse in Wrigley is a PSU bar (at least they are a steelers/pens bar)
Also, do not go to Michael Diverseys near duffys, do not be fooled by the little MSU flag out front.
Purdue's official bar is Waterhouse at Paulina and Roscoe.
NW's bar is Lions head like you said
also, let sbe honest here, its the big ten tourney
ANY bar you go into in Wrigley/Lincoln Park will have the games on

Is Diag just Jack's with a new name?
I used to go to there occasionally but haven't been in since they changed the name.
I think Jack's was always a UM bar too.
oh, and if you want a very good MSU experience, I recommend checking out Higgins Tavern if you have never been. I regular hi-tops but Jim Higgins runs a great MSU bar on the north side
And as you've previously alluded to, all of these bars will be a shit-show by noon on Saturday.
Out of towners who haven't experienced St. Pats in Chicago...last year was 80 degrees and sunny by 11 am, everyone was drunk by 10 am.
This year, looking like 50-55, partly cloudy. Everyone will be drunk by 11 am. Lines will be stupid in a lot of places. A bunch of people will go downtown to watch the river get dyed green and then head north or stay downtown, expect crowded L trains and crowded bars.
sadly the colder weather means no outfits like i saw last year, mini-skirt HEAVEN!
