Has anyone looked into this? Seems incredibly risky.
sign of the beast...
It's actually a really good way to make money. If you want, I can give you really good deals on bitcoins and help you make a good profit from them. PM some personal info (name, address, etc.) and your bank account numbers and I'll help you get started.
Is it okay if I also send my SSN?
I am going to trade my participation points from 247 for bitcoins.
I'm expecting a big payment from a Prince in Sudan, when I get that, I'll have some disposable cash to invest.
Cool if you're into your currency being hacked...
Bitcoin wallet site Instawallet has been taken offline after a security compromise, the latest in a trickle of hacks or thefts of the decentralized currency. VentureBeat has posted a missive from...
Useful if you ever decide to buy drugs delivered to your door via Silk Road.
That would actually really help to expedite things. I don't require it because it freaks people out a little, but the process is definitely easier if its included.
I've heard of people doing that too. If this many people have heard of it, there is no way it could possibly be real
Some guy on reddit invested 30K and it was worth over 270K a few days ago but right now bitcoin is crashing.
It does seem like quite a leap of faith buying illegal items over the internet with BitCoins.
I could believe that 2 criminals who already know each other using BitCoins as a means of payment, or to launder money in general, but I can't see someone making payment to some anonymous person on the web. Seems like a great way to get the DEA knocking on your door.
The people I heard about who did it used bitcoins. Used an alias and a fake address (but one that they knew would ultimately go to them), and they got a delivery. I never heard if what they got was actually real or not though...
There was nothing to link them to anything.

"For speculators, the math is incredibly compelling. If you spent $100 on bitcoins the day after the Slashdot article came out, those coins would have been worth $72,500 when the Gawker article came out just under a year later. And they would have been worth $250,000 a week after that. Today, they would be worth more than $1 million. There aren’t many perfectly legal investments which offer that kind of return."
A few days ago, the value of all the bitcoins in the world blew past $1 billion for the first time ever. That’s an impressive achievement, f…
Remember when people used to talk about baseball cards as a great investment?
I'm so confused, isn't this basically like people who buy more lives for online games or points for Warcraft, how is there any financial backing and who in their right mind would sell someone a car for exchange of bit coins
There is no financial backing. People that buy it are taking a very high risk and it's a crapshoot if they will even recieve the items they purchase.
It's gained A LOT of steam over the last 2 years. Use to be able to mine the bitcoins yourself or even buy them for a couple dollars a piece... last I checked it was around $190 yesterday or today? It fluctuates a lot throughout the week.
They have Bitcoin ATMs in Cyprus and I've read investors in other Euro countries have getting involved.
Up until a few years ago.... it's real.
I know people who use SR, I'd say buying drugs in person is much riskier than SR.
Do they still do it? As far as I knew it's been riddled with DEA agents and scam artists lately.
I know RCMB hates Reddit but this guy spent his entire savings, $30,000 on Bitcoins when they were only $14-25 each and just sold back most today for around $200.
He said he quit his job
bitcoin down to 150 now
I own a tiny bit of BTC.. I almost threw a couple hundred in when they were at $30 a coin back in Feb.. But didn't. BTC had an extremely volatile day today. From what i understand it traded in the range of $70-$240 for 1 coin all in one day.
Not the smartest place for an investment but if you like some risk and can go long on it, I do like the potential..
