On Guarding Keith Appling
“I thought we did a pretty good job on him as far as trying to get him to have to work for his scores. We fouled him three times in the act of shooting, that doesn’t happen here. I don’t mean here, that doesn’t happen to our teams. That might be more fouling a jump shooter than we get in a season, in one game."
Is he really arguing about this? The foul on the 3-pointer was literally a tackle
So he says his team doesn't foul a shooter 3 times in an entire season? oh man
I don't think he was calling out the refs so much as he was calling out his players for playing sloppy.
Glad we took advantage.
walking under a shooter is apparently legal where he comes from.
Guess their patented "walk underneath jump shooters" bit isn't a foul.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
And I'm shocked that he didn't die of cardiac arrest when someone accidentally slipped in some garlic in the teams pasta dinner last night.

They coach not to foul at Wisconsin
I think you mean oman
That grey haired ref certainly favored the Vadgers
I like the call where Red Mop practically spiked the ball out of bounds and it was then given to Wisconsin.
I just thank God, Burr, Valentine or TV Teddy did not call that game. They already shot 18 free throws. With that bunch Bo's bandits shoot 30 on a bunch of imaginary fouls.
I fucking dread playing vlad and his floppers.....its like sitting around waiting to go to the dentist to get a root canal.....when will this MF retire?
To die in ann arbor is redundant
The pre-shot clock era? Yup.
I'm shocked that Bo would piss and moan about something after a loss.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
I think he was talking about his team's execution which, by the way, I'm all for.
You guys kill me....where does he contest the fouls from an officiating standpoint. All coaches lament fouling on a jump shot and that's all this quote was.
my favorite plea of dracula last night was when Valentine missed a dunk and hung on the rim because there were two vadgers underneath him and dracula was begging to get a technical called on Valentine.
Nevermind that a) the rule was put in for sportsmanship reasons after MADE dunks and b) a player is allowed to hang on the rim for safety reasons.
But hey, if you can't win on skill, win on working the referees.
Bo's bitching on that possession also caused the refs to miss the fact that Appling was a foot behind the arc when he nailed his three. They eventually checked the tape and got it right but what a douche.
tCount did distract Steratore from seeing that Appling was outside the arc on MSU's next possession, so that did cost us a point for about 4 minutes until they finally had the under 4 media timeout at about 1:57.
Exactly. Steratore's a really good ref and Bo went 2 feet in front of him (on the court no less) while the play was going on blocking his view. He was really lucky Steratore didn't give him a technical.
He doesn't point out any specific call or play, but makes it clear that he thinks his team can play an entire season and only foul a jump shooter once or twice in 30+ games. No coach likes it, but they at least acknowledge that it happens more than once every 1000 possessions.
Can't wait to see the look on his face if they miss the Big Dance. They may have that win over Indiana, but an RPI in the mid-50s and a few more lumps to come in the Big Ten could spell trouble...
+1. nicely done
It was just a mistake;
I didn't mean to let them take away my soul.
Am I too old?
Is it too late?
Thankfully, Bo's team reverted to their pre B1G season awfulness last night. They are NOT the typical Wusconsin team. State will beat them again in EL!
Nίκη για MSU
Jud used to scream...
NEVER FOUL A JUMP SHOOTER.
Oh he's definitely talking about the officiating. Saying "here" can easily mean at his school. But he corrects himself and say "our team" to make it look like he wasn't talking about the Kohl center.
The Sith lord was bitching about the officiating.
