He beat them three out of four games and has three championships.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Then what's his problem? He sounds like a whiny baby.

Should be a lot of fun when C-Note's book and documentary come out
He's pointing out that they never won a championship and in his opinion are undeserving of the hype they've been living off of for two decades. Knight also saves his venom for known cheaters, as he routinely blasted Kentucky throughout his career. That era of Michigan Basketball certainly qualifies as known cheaters.
Michigan's good now. They don't need Rose and his attention-whoring friends making it all about them, which is all they have ever done.

Will Bynum dunks in traffic in the NBA and he has far less game than Mateen. As great as Mateen was at MSU, I will always believe that damn accident robbed him of even greater things. Combine his heart, head and desire to win with explosive athleticism and the sky would have been the limit.
I just don't get why ANYBODY, including Knight, is talking about the FF right now when the current team is 19-1.
Because ESPN interlaces promo after promo of the current team with pictures and mentions of the Fab Five. Knight's partner said something to the effect of "since the Fab Five" when promoting this weekend's game.
That's why people keep bringing it up.
I wish they wouldn't do that. Let bygones be gone or whatever i'm drunk.
My point exactly. They don't need it mentioned anymore. They can stand on their own.
Michigan's past the point where Jalen Rose should in any way be an example for the school or the program.
Considering that his story involves a umAA cheerleader, I upvoted him for NOT posting said pic.
So women closing in on 50 are your thing? I've posted enough if you want to dig around, she was a UM cheerleader in the mid 80's from Shelby Township/Utica Eisenhower. You want to know what she looked like-like a gazillion other girls did at the time-she didn't do anything wrong, but Gary Grant couldn't have been clearer that he was being taken care of.
It's pretty clear from the 2000 film on BTN that the consesus is from those that recruited and watched Cleaves is that he lost a step after that accident.
When I'm drunk they all look 22.
Could Mateen ever shoot though?
Was he a great shooter in high school?
Why do you want to take this a step further and talk about his outside shot and the NBA?
Mateen played his freshman year at 50% of what we even saw as a Soph. And the legend of Mateen we saw was not the Mateen before the accident when he played above the rim.
Can Rondo shoot?
Mateen lost at least a step and his hops after the accident. Maybe he could get in the lane and finish around the rim in the NBA if it didn't happen. He's probably a better defender as well. Maybe he plays in the NFL. Who knows?
While we're speculating, I'm almost certain you didn't see him play in high school.

I am gravely disappointed. Again you have made me unleash my dogs of war.
Only the really big shots. What's your point ?
why wouldn't he? Knight did everything without cheating while your shit team was praised and immortalized while receiving over 600,000 in cash. Your "fab five" was a fucking joke that didnt win anything but an illegal paycheck. ESPN and scum fans may immortalize them, but no-one else does. You should be embarrassed about their actions, and the actions of others to make the "fab five" look like anything else but a gang of cheaters.
Your current team should do everything in their power to separate themselves from the cheaters of the past.

"Stats are for Losers." - Pat "Nardawg" Narduzzi
I remember reading when Mateen was a junior on the AAU circuit that he went head to head with Mike Bibby and completely owned him outscoring him something like 36-8.
Mateen lost quite a bit his freshmen year and certainly was not the same physical player he was in high school. Kid had very little lift or jump at MSU for as great a high school athlete as he was.
Incredibly, well stated. Bravo!!
I think it's a good question. The accident robbed him of his hops. It undoubtedly changed his jumper as he wasn't getting the same lift in college post accident. Was his jumper more consistent in HS?

You used to be somewhat rational, What changed that??
I'm a troll, please don't feed me.

WOW!!! Did you just play the "You only became who you are because we stopped cheating." card?
Another moral victory for you!
