You're right. What were we thinking. I'll ask Izzo if he'll raise a banner to thank you guys. How about thank you UM, for without your cheating, all of these wouldn't have been possible....
Clearly a RCMB'er. Trying to troll the "maladjusted bonars?"
I didn't see him play in high school. I already said that. I think it's a fair question to ask if he was a great shooter.
Mateen was a great physical player, and he dominated at the high school level. I don't think you can automatically use that to say he would have been a great NBA player. I'm sure many people assumed Torbert would have been a great NBA player by watching him in high school. I'm sure many people thought Marcus Taylor would have been a good/decent NBA player by watching him in high school.
Anyway...back to hating the Fab5...
Why, because I think Knight should stop whining about something that happened in the early 90's and focus on the current team? He comes across as butthurt imo. I usually try to stay out of UM threads. Shoulda stay out of this one lol.
I think it hurt him in the NBA (that he wasn't a great shooter). I'm asking if he was a great shooter in high school...before the accident.
We never do anything on our own.
We owe everything to you.
How do you get your head through a doorway?
Why the hell wouldn't he be pissed off? The unprecedented cheating of Frieder and Fisher, Canham ad Bo affected every team in the B1G for the better part of two decades. Now we're supposed to celebrate the chumps because some time has passed? Fuck that noise. He didn't bring up the Frauds, Davis did. Knight just set the record straight for all the Revisionists out there.
Try to understand what knights job is. He is a color man he provides commentary for the play by play. They offer opinions to the play by play guy. Knight did not bring up the fab five Reece Davis did. Knight responded to Davis comments about the fab five having played against him. Knight says "tell me what fab means, they never win anything.". It was a very appropriate comment and funny too. Oh, and true.
Are you saying he should have ignored Reece's comment/question and said "let's not talk about the fab five, let's talk about the current team"??? That would have sounded dumb in my opinion.
God I hate those pricks.
y2kMgrad - READ this post. And learn, grasshopper, learn.
And if the systemic cheating of Frieder and Fisher hadn't been embraced by the UM administration, there is a good chance Jud could have built upon the Magic era and been much more successful during his tenure. I would argue that it took UM to cheat to keep MSU down and not that it took them getting caught to allow MSU to flourish

Yep, that's exactly what he should have said.
Let's not talk about the Holocaust either. Then it will go away.
Wow. You are indeed a Michigan man.
Dude, it's mentioned a bunch of times is this thread that the media has been bringing up the Fraud 5 all week. The biggest college basketball scandal has very, very rarely been brought up. All we hear is:" MIchigan #1 for the first time since the FAB FIVE! "
Good for Knight for calling them out. Most of the clowns at ESPN and the like don't have the guts too.
Or ask Reece... What does that have to do with this game?
No one spoon fed OUR program. It came about through the hiring and work ethic of GREAT coaching. Go back to Walmart. And - they are the FELON Five. FELON.
Butthurt? That would imply UM got the better of Knight, which didn't happen with the Fabs. Knight hates them due to the cheating and the hype. Does the same thing with Kentucky. And Knight is talking specifically about the Fabs, not UM overall. Have never heard him say anything bad about JB, and he counted Bo among his best friends.

Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Why is anyone even talking about the Cheaters and the Worst. They were cheating back then, before that and after that. Scum has been cheating, lying, and stealing since their founding. Then, because they're 'michigan' the boast about it and expect everyone to kiss their feet.
See a scummie today: Kick them in the groin.
Nίκη για MSU
Here's an mLive article that spells out the incident in context.
BTW, Reece Davis used to do sports on a Flint TV station, so he is VERY familiar with the Fraud 5ive's history. No doubt in my mind he was intentionally baiting RMK to get some response. Usually Knight is a lot more bombastic in that kind of situation; I think it is kind of toned down from what Knight probably would have said if asked a couple of years ago.
Former Indiana coach Bob Knight offered his opinion about the Fab Five during an ESPN broadcast on Thursday night.
Yeah, that really helped MSU that we didn't land Webber because UM/Martin paid for him.......
Comment from another board:
"Bob is just jealous of the Fab 5, yeah he won 3 NC's but truth is he never had a team as talented as the Fab 5 and he never coached a player as good as Webber, he's a hater"
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Yeah, who wants 3 national championships when you can coach "cultural icons"?
So the rule abiding individual should just keep quiet and be the bigger man while the rest of the network celebrates a bunch of cheaters? And your problem is with Knight rather than the rest of the network? Seriously?

Unintentionally hilarious couple of comments from the VV board. They don't even see the irony.
The NCAA slapped OSU on the wriste for a decade of cheating, knowing full well 3x more went on than they could prove when everyone refused to talk. - By Beave February 1, 2013 at 08:36:59 PM
Ohio got a slap on the wrist because the ncaa kept running into dead ends - By umfan February 1, 2013 at 09:44:34 PM
