I've got to say I'm pretty disappointed. OSU people hated this guy.
Judging from the reactions, wondering if maybe we should have hired Tress and taken the show clause. I'm kidding. I think I'm kidding.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Ill take a couple bcs bowls here and there. Not going to complain at all. Plus he has NFL and msu experience
He cannot possibly be worse than roushar in calling plays, so in that regard, it must be an upgrade.
The recruiting rumors are disappointing. I'm quite sure MSU hired him on the cheap, it's how we've always operated.
Vim -- noun: robust energy and enthusiasm : VITALITY
That was thanks to some very explosive personnel (Pryor) and heavy influence from Darrell Hazell.
Over/under on minutes until we have a Fire Bollman thread?
Rexrode tweeting that there is no confirmation at this point.
I like the hire, he has lots of connections in OH and experience in the B1G. question is can he close the deal on high end recruits? having a nice shiny NC ring doesnt hurt and Rushar wasnt tearing it up on the recruiting trail either. Give the man a chance and we will see... I thought for sure Salem was going to get the job.
Purely going off rumors heard on twitter and assuming top dollar fetches better than the failed OC of osu and failed OL coach of Boston College.
Edit: Found salaries online because apparently everything ever known by anyone is on the internet.

Wow, the response is just brutal. This looks like a questionable hire, wtf? I would have rather gotten a young up and coming innovator. This is disappointing and we're going to get ridiculed in the media for this hire.
I hope MD made a good choice though and the team wins 11 games next season, that will shut everyone up.
Fletch: Tressell called the played from 2001 -2010. Bollman called them in 2011, the 6-7 season.
So you're ignoring the fact that everyone is laughing at this hire? Please show me some tweets just anything where someone other than a poster blowing sunshine for upvotes says this is a good hire? I can tell just by looking at the dude that he will never recruit a 4 or 5 star kid.
Anyon bought firebollman.com yet?
No need for personal attacks, Wannabe Rod. ;)
You don't think it's a little premature to declare the reason we hired Bollman was because the Admin wouldn't pony up enough money for Tedford or Belichek or the Zombie Lombardi?
They did have a true freshman running the offense that year.
I was taught that if you dont have something nice to say, then dont say anything at all......
Go green, hope coach D found his guy.
How long until 'Hire Roushar'?
Anybody remember that he was the offensive line coach on Nick Saban's MSU staff? I recall a "meet the coaches" event in Saginaw soon after Saban's appointment that one of the main topics of conversation was what a tough job the new offensive line coach was facing. When he left for Ohio State three or four years later the line situation at MSU was much stronger.
Anyone else considering this is an intentional false leak? Either by the AD or
by a big time booster?
Throw out a name that has been tossed around, get overall negative reaction, helps get leverage in going out and spending $$$ on a bigger name?
Good i hope its just a false alarm. Msu needs a young energetic guy like Nardawg on the offensive side of the ball. One who can recruit, not an old school guy, he will never get high end talent.
I understand your desire to try to be positive, but I'm just passing on the data we have to go on. He was only our OC for 2011 as a play-caller and offensive designer and he was god-awful. As an OL coach & recruiter, he was here from 2001-2011 and the results were lackluster to say the very least. Our OL was frequently a liability under Bollman for the duration of his tenure here.
Given that you guys are used to Roushar (sp?) and a bad offense from 2012, it may not be as striking of a transition for you, but I truly hope for MSU's sake that Bollman has either completely changed everything about the way he coaches and designs offenses, or Dantonio realizes the monumental error in judgment he made in hiring Bollman and replaces him quickly. I know what it feels like to wish so badly for this guy to be gone from your program. The only place I'd like to see him coach is Michigan. I would wish his employment on no one else in the FBS. In fact if the NCAA had really wanted to hurt us after the Tatgate scandal, they should've just forced the Athletic Department at Ohio State to retain Bollman as its Offensive Coordinator & OL coach for 3-5 years. That would've shut us down completely as a program for years after he was gone. I'm so unbelievably thankful that Meyer came in and immediately canned him. I've never been happier to see someone gone. :)
One can only hope.
I have never cared about upvotes. Tressel had this guy on staff for a decade, and you think he sucks immediately despite the number of wins tOSU had with him?
Tressel could get anyone at Ohio State and had no reason to stay with a guy that he thought wasn't doing a good job.
