This will be a historic moment for pro sports when this finally happens.
Ayanbadejo said he is in coordinated talks with the players and thinks they will come out
Good. It's a shame that this topic is still taboo in sports in this day and age.
Oops, that's only three NFL players...
Charles Woodson. There, that's four.

Totally agree. But I fully expect some vocal, bigoted NFL players and fans are going to be spewing hateful things when this happens.
Is Johnny Morton still around?
Its five o'clock somewhere.
Now the real question is he going to be one of the four?
and 2 kickers.
Why is this a big deal? We all know there are gay athletes in every sport. ( maybe not quiddich) when these guys come out it won't change anyone's opinion of gay people I believe. If you were accepting of it before, you still will be if you were a bigoted idiot red neck, you still will be.
I just hope one is an offensive center. We'll have jokes for months.

Too bad Jeff Garcia doesn't still play
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
I think it will be a big deal for some because football and the NFL is such "manly, man's sport."
I also agree that it probably won't change many minds when it happens, but it's always a big moment when a person or group stand up and go against the established status quo (ie: not being openly gay in the NFL).
I don't think a man should wear yellow pants. Not even in sports. Just sayin....

A guy can dream.
I wonder if Tim Hardaway Sr. will be out there telling people how he feels about this.
I think to a lesser extent it will be like what Jackie Robinson was for Civil Rights. Once it's "main stream" even in sports it's just one more strong step towards equality.
A Spartan Today, A SPARTAN FOREVER. Through thick and thin, low and high water I strive to be the best Spartan ever.
The opposition to this wont come from the fans. The fans dont really give a shat if a player is gay. Its the actual players who have to shower and share a locker room with the gay. And unfortunately, it will bring all sorts of issues to the team that the gay plays for.
And I say unfortunately because I could care less either way...
But seriously, how would a male pro-athlete hide his homosexuality? Aren't these dudes constantly showering together and stuff?
I know if I was in the shower with a bunch of elite women vollyball players or gymnasts or whatever, I'd be sporting wood like a friggin oak tree.
I must be crazy to be in a loony bin like this.
And hopefully their teams will be fined if it happens during games or other official NFL functions.
I know Jeff. His wife is smoking hot and he has 4 kids.
Well, if you haven't heard, this week there were two GOP reps here in North Carolina that proposed a resolution asserting North Carolina has the power to set an official state religion.
I can see those type of folks who are NFL fans saying stupid things about gay players.
Playboy playmate Carmella or something right? She's responsible for more than a few of my knuckle children.
