awful post. Broyles has looked great, plays hard, runs perfect routes, and by all accounts is a great teammate. he's exactly what Detroit needs more of. He was a steal in the 2nd round.
will never play a full season

Please. He was a reach where the Lions took him, especially with his injury concerns. And what do you know, he's injured again. You can find good route runners in the 4th or 5th round.
Lavonte David, TB Mike Williams, Doug Martin, DaQuan Boweers, Quincy Black and Gerald McCoy were all good ones
Pettigrew set a Lions record w/ 83 catches last year and has 54 this year w/ 4 games to go. He'll have 3 of the top 5 seasons ever for a Tight End in a Lions uniform come January. The guy has his moments for sure, but i'm sick of people acting like he's Jermichael Finley and only catches 2 balls a game. He's not in "stud" territory, but he's a damned good receiving TE.
This season is so bad I'm thinking of becoming a Packer fan.
"No one cares what you know, until they know how much you care." Mark Dantonio
He's fumbled 5 times in 4 seasons - losing 2. And he's caught 241 passes. which means he fumbles approximately once ever 50 catches - and loses one once ever 120 catches. OH NOES!!!!!!!!!!!!
Seriously...do any of you idiots even watch football?
so were Bill Bentley, Mikel Leshoure, Sammie Lee Hill, Willie Young, Deandre Levy and Reilly Reiff. Never mind Stafford, Suh, and Megatron. You guys act like Mayhew hasn't hit on a draft pick in 4 years. All he's done is find some great players in later rounds every year and has yet to waste a 1st round pick. Injuries happen.
Lions haters are as bad as Walverines. no logical basis at all for calling players like Suh "garbage" or suggesting a guy will never play an entire season because of one injury. Tell that to Frank Gore.
oh, well then I guess no one should bother drafting anyone in the second round! good players are all just sitting there in the 4th and 5th rounds for everyone...it's so EASY!
You're an idiot. Broyles was definitely a reach with his torn ACL. And you can find plenty of starting WR in the 4th round or later, just look at the starting NFL rosters. The Lions should have been focusing on upgrading their garbage defense, not trying to improve the passing game.
So who are these great players he has found in the later rounds?
A mediocre linebacker, a backup DT, and a backup DE?
The weakness of Mayhew is that he can't draft for shit outside of the first 2 round (and he's screwed up most of his 2nd round picks so far)
I'm not a Lions hater. I'm certainly not mad at the Broyles pick. The injury was a fluke. My point was that people claiming the injury yesterday didn't affect the Lions very much are just wrong. The difference between having Broyles and Logan on pass patterns is huge. Mayhew has certainly hit on draft picks and had a few notable misses (Derrick Williams comes to mind). I'd add Jonte Green to the good picks list. Until his injury, he was looking really good for a 6th round pick.
