Must have fallen into the shit abyss
A man's gotta eat!
that's awful...and the video is heartbreaking. jesus. poor guy.
It said his tv went down with him, and the cables were seen disappearing into the hole. So, I'm thinking there's a remote chance that he's in some air void pocket down there with his tv and will be able to watch the game this Sunday.
Queue copycat thread "Where to watch the game from a Florida sinkhole?"
This is so wrong. This isn't even Darwinism i expect better out of tRCMB (not really) this could happen to any of us and that could be your sibling crying on the news.
It certainly is Darwinism. He should never have built/purchased/lived-in a home that was precariously teetering over a massive unexposed sinkhole. I mean, what an idiot!
Youre right this dude didnt have tanfan baller money so he lived in the shitty part of town where your house could get eaten by a giant hole.
Any way the rescue crews could pull on the cables? Would kind of suck to lose a flat screen down there.
Dang I used to work just down the street from there. Living down here it makes you kinda think. My professors have done some research and in the few small areas they've used geophysics, there could be tens-hundreds of old/potential sink holes per square mile around Tampa... scary stuff
Atleast his family will save money on burial expenses.
True - I didn't think this incident fell within the board's pun parameters. That video was awful.
This has some more pics...incredible
What a fucked-up way to die in bed...no hooker
You know, I expect lots of lame jokes when there are incidents like this, but, c'mon. Sinkholes open up rapidly. What do you expect, Superman? You have a house sinking into a suddenly appearing giant hole. "The bro" was frantically trying to dig his brother out, and police pulled him out for his own safety.
WTF!!!!! Is that real? I hope to dear God it's photo shopped.
So whats at the bottom of a sink-hole? Just curious...
Location: Mumbai, India
I went through a photo deck of various sink holes from around the world last night. That one in Guatemala looks like it's shopped. Not saying it is, but it just doesn't look right, at least from that bird's eye view. I, too, am curious what is at the bottom. Do they ever send someone down there to go investigate? Spelunking?
I must say that would be the worst way to die.....maybe even worse than a fire. I don't often ponder such things but: that would just be god awful. You have to figure he either got crushed and died of internal injuries or suffocated. I'm not very religious but god willing it went somewhat quickly. Suffocating is the worst. I heard a medical examiner describe it one night as he discussed a farm worker dying in a silo. I was completely distraught.
.....as for this story, I wasn't too shaken by it until his brother said he could hear him call his name and couldn't get to him. Guess I'm getting soft in my middle age but.....that's sad as hell. Ok back to making fun of this poor bastard.
Bet he wishes he never hit the snooze button on his alarm.
At the bottom? A pile of dirt and water...
All they are are areas where the carbonate rocks (limestone) have dissolved enough where the overlying burden is too much and it all collapses.
More likely, this guy had a sink hole forming under his room for awhile and the floor just couldn't handle it anymore.
That's so sad, not being able to help his brother is going to haunt this guy for a while. I really hope he gets treatment, I cannot imagine being in his position
What are you talking about? I thought they called this guy tanfan.
So I guess his waterbed purchase doesn't seem as impressive now.......
