Wait, who? What sport?
Why the hmmmm? Durkin took the spot.
And I should care -- why, exactly?
Thank you, Denicos.
Good for him, but we got our guy.
Wasn't Henderson the guy the star gazers wanted? UNC is a mediocre football program at a bball school. I thought he'd go to a very good football school.
I like Durkin a lot, and.having seen him play I know he's good. That being said, i have only seen Henderson's film but I think he's the better QB. Throws a better ball. Bummed we missed out, with Narduzzi's connection it seemed we had a shot.
I know we were in on him, but we got our guy. It was first come first serve when it came to the QB spot, and they all knew that. best of luck to him, unless we ever face him.
Go Bears, Blackhawks, White Sox, and Pioneers.
Just because I don't care doesn't mean I don't understand
It should be noted that MD was reportedly concerned that Henderson wouldn't qualify academically.
Maybe Henderson was leaning towards an Afro American Studies degree. North Carolina leads the nation in that department.
GL to him.
But he didn't
Look at the offer list. Doesn't exactly scream "high 4-star" offer list.
MSU was after 4 4-star QBs. They got one of them early. That's pretty much a success; a Plan A guy at a position.

Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
I believe he actually tried to commit at some point, but couldn't because of academics.
Durkin is a grown man, Henderson....Yawn
They pay their recruits well and give great perks.....just ask Butch Davis....
Henderson was the guy we all wanted because the 247 reporters told us he was the best guy that we were interested in... their "sources" told them he was our #1 before O'Connor came on the scene... of course, Durkin was no where to be mentioned until he committed, and like the Peko situation, we're all left going "wtf?"
And that's why they make the big bucks...
To be fair... Durkin burst onto the scene late and 247 did report about him before he committed. The conventional wisdom on 247 was that O'Connor was on the verge of committing. He visited MSU recently and was told that we were expecting Durkin to commit, so he better pull the trigger now. O'Connor didn't. Durkin did. Not exactly like the Peko situation.
I thought I read Durkin is a high GPA/good student. Plus there's some thinking he could play other positions if he gets bigger. I think they gave O'Connor fair warning and doesn't seem they did the same with Henderson. So I'll guess Henderson was lower on their board than Durkin.
My Whiskey Blog
He snoozed and lost his spot
I wouldn't say that. There was a rumor that he tried to commit months ago, but the staff wouldn't accept his commit cause there was concern about him meeting NCAA clearinghouse standards.

On another site that shall be mentioned that starts with an 'r', Henderson is listed as the #65 recruit in the country. His best offers are Michigan State, Miami, Virginia Tech. After that, it's Virginia, Purdue, Illinois, Boston College.
Those offers scream solid 3 star prospect. I've never seen a kid rated that high with an offer list that has zero big dog programs.
