I never really thought the Cameron Crazies were really all that. A lot of the noise factor comes from the fact that they're in a very small venue and they're very close to the floor. Overall though, if you watch some of their lesser games, they're no better than any other student section.
"People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care." - Mark Dantonio.
It shouldn't be louder. I think there's only like 9,000 seats in Cameron. I know you guys are all over the izzone lately but once msu got out to a 4-0 lead I said there's no way we're winning this game.
9,000 people in very small gym though.
They always yell "you, you, you" at players who foul. Pretty wild stuff..
I never noticed those hoops hangin from the ceiling until last night's game. It is a good design, if you ask me(yeah, my first thought was about Noel), and it is a pretty cool old-school look. The whole place is, inside and out. Have to just appreciate it for what it is, but I certainly wouldn't trade it for the Bres.
I'm sure the $ around Duke could tear that place down and replace it with an absolute palace, but they elect not to. I have to respect that in this day and age..old barns are only original once.
There is romance in all of us
Just think if we played in Jenison how loud it would be when we played Michigan.
Yea, all Duke hate aside, Cameron looks like a pretty awesome place to watch a basketball game, as long as you appreciate the history that goes along with it. Definitely a place I'd want to go see a game some day just because. I got to Assembly Hall last year. Cameron is the next one I'd love to see, followed by Hinkle Fieldhouse.
Cameron crazies bring it strong every game, Izzone does it a couple times a year.
You watch all of their games?
They can't even fill the 1,200 seats in the stands so they've had to sell the seats. The ESPN article lays out excuses for why this was happening.
If the ESPN article doesn't help you realize the myth behind the Duke section, maybe this NY Times article will better explain it:

Easy tough guy. Compare a game at the Bres between a no name team and one at Cameron.
Well it's a smaller school so I'd expect there to be less of them.
Have you been to a game at Cameron against a no name team? Read my above articles because the students in the section even notice the problem. But you seem to know more than the students who are in the section. Sigh.
Hanging the goals from the ceiling causes a great deal of blocking of the view from any upper level seat. A lot of those 9,000 seats have a partially-blocked view of the game.

You're missing the point. The point is that Duke is still louder than MSU for non premium games.
