Getting to the FF is considered the high-water mark at MSU. We're the self-proclaimed "FF U", right?
Well, they're there. And they're doing it with underclassmen. And they've more than held their own against us the past three seasons.
Sooooooo, now what?
Yeah, I expect them to take a big step back when Burke leaves, but still, there's enough talent there, plus more coming in, to keep 'em very competitive.

Do it another 5 times?
Scrap the program!
George Mason did the same thing. Now they're a national power. Oh wait
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
No, sorry, that's not how it works. For every 5 FF MSU makes, UM only has to make one as far as the national (and Detroit) media is concerned. So they've caught up. Our past FFs only matter to us MSU at this point. Nobody else gives a shit.
BTW, you can't tell me that UM's chances of winning this thing look any worse than any other remaining team's, at this point.

Eeeh let's not get too ahead of ourselves here. Michigan (yes I'm a student/fan) has had one good season. It could be part of Michigan rebuilding their basketball tradition and returning to national prominence. Or it could be another 15+ years before we make another final four. Who knows?
No doubt there. Even great programs can go a decade+ without making the FF. I'm not saying that UM is a lock to make every FF every year from now on. The fact is that a player like Burke only comes around every quarter century or so.
I'm just asking my fellow MSU fans how we go about belittling UM's hoops program, which is a foundational element of this board.

Can't take it away from them. But doesn't mean I won't be cheering hard for the Orangemen(even though I hate their coach).

I'll take my advisement from people who actually attended MSU, thanks.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
George Mason made a Final Four. So have VCU and Wichita State.
Even a blind chicken finds seed.
The RCMB...is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet.
Congrats to them, their program still has a ways to go to get on the level of witchita state though
" Can't take anything away from UM now. "
Why not? Final Fours have been taken away from them before.

Ya, they're there NOW. This year.
Now make runs and possibly get there every year for the next 15 and we'll talk. They like to belittle us for saying that our football program has caught up to them because we had just a few good years "but have a long way to go", so they don't get to say we're equals in any way, shape, or form on the court. Not yet.
Congrats to them for this season. They have a talented team and made a really deep run. But over time, so has Butler, so has Wichita State, and so have many others so keep it going for a little while and then you'll deserve the praise and labels that they are seeking. It APPEARS that they'll at least stay competitive for awhile. At worst middle of the B1G and a problem for some teams. But now they'll feel the pressure of keeping it going for 30+ games each season going forward and they'll see how tough it is.
I just feel bad for all the Wolverine fans out there who aren't enjoying this run.... because if there's one I've learned in the past 15 years or so, it's Wolverine fans have no interest in basketball... that's all I ever heard...
Lot of butthurt in this thread
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Solid point, if you had made it a year ago. UM fans are well-engaged again.

Michigan is pretty good. I hope they win the National Championship since we beat them by 23 while playing 5 guys who didn't have names on their jerseys for the last 4 minutes of the game!
No one is disputing that MSU has been more successful over the last 15 years. By a factor of 10.
The next few years are going to be very competitive. Beilein is a good coach and he has gotten some great players for his system.
I personally have no insecurity about U-M having a good year. They have earned it.
Sooooo their making a Final Four without cheating in 2 decades also doesn't mean I have to post about it on the RCMB.
Give them credit when credit is due but don't respect them.
UM deserves credit. Heck of a job by them.
MSU needs to fix its offense. Just like football.
Its five o'clock somewhere.
damn good point: I was thinking the same thing earlier today: Izzo and Dantonio have that in common now too. Not ripping them, just stating a fact
You mean get some more shooters?
