Reported the winner of NW/MSU is a lock for the Gator Bowl..
Would typically face the SEC #7, which, this year would be Mississippi State.. they finish with Arkansas and Ole Miss and, if they win both, would be 9-3 and ranked. However, if you look closer, Miss State's best win would be Ole Miss and they could potentially not have 1 win against a team with a winning record
8-5 season with potentially knocking off ranked SEC team would be good momentum heading into 2013..
What say you?!?!?
Beating Georgia was supposed to be good momentum for 2012. Who gives a fuck, either way its a disappointing season
Given that our defense is about four wins better than our record would indicate, I expect to wail on anybody that we meet in a bowl.
tRCMB - Visit at your own risk of being disgusted.
Our offense will show no mercy either. I wouldn't be surprised if they scored 13 points... or perhaps even more.
Let's not get carried away...
Wonder if we could duplicate the 3-0 Pitt/Ore State Sun Bowl from couple years ago..
Was gripping stuff..
From a fan's standpoint the season can definitely be masked if they win out and beat an SEC team on New Years Day. The pain felt all year will definitely be eased by that, even though deep down I know it could be a farce if they play a bad team propped up by an empty ranking and that plays in the premier conference but isn't close to premier itself.
I wouldn't mind seeing something like this on my box score:
Mich. St. 2
Miss. St. 0
For that to happen, a team would have to lose 75 yards on a single possession in OT. So basically it would be like watching us punt after starting at an opponent's 11-yard line.
What would the over under be for MSU fans in the stands at that game? I am going to say 7,500.
I'm rooting for the "MSU" Bowl. Time to settle once and for all which team gets the "MSU" acronym on sports broadcasts and which one is relegated to Mich St. or Miss St. status.
Michigan State does not and will not run the 3-4 defense.
Miss St would be great. A ranked SEC team we can beat IMO.
I'd love to see a Michigan State vs New Miss matchup.
We would sack their QB so hard he would fumble out the back of the other end zone.
You do realize that we have to take the offense to the bowl game too right? Hard to wail on anyone with field goals (assuming we make them).
have to pray the offensive line can be at least below average and not awful by bowl time.
I say hope Arkansas beats Miss St and upsets #7 LSU somehow. WHAT UP JLS.
There is some talk that we may be headed for the Gator Bowl. If the SEC gets 1 team in the BCS, then that would put some combination of LSU, A&M, UGA in the Cap One, Cotton, and Outback. Next for the SEC would be the Peach, but because Clemson likely is going there, we would not be picked because it would just be a rematch of our game with them next week. If that happens, then USC likely drops to the Gator. Not saying this going to happen because there is a lot of football left, but that has been discussed as a possibility.
You may run like Hayes, but you hit like $*!#
Also, I believe there has been some talk of UF going to the Gator bowl as well. If they lose to FSU (which I think is likely especially if Driskel is out), then that would pick up a lot of steam as well.
I would get one of those giant John L faces like they have for Gameday and I would get a giant hand made and you would seegiant John L slapping himself all game in the crowd
Years ago we played Miss State in basketball. A couple days before the game, Jud told reporters, " MSU will win this game..." har har.
Except one of the Detroit papers didn't get the joke and ran a headline saying Jud had guarenteed a Michigan State win.....
I like it. The bowl could be dubbed... "The Battle for MSU Supremacy"
Hoping for SoCar.
Clowney vs. our offensive line? No thanks!
There is no chance that a 10-2 Florida team goes to Jacksonville (for the 2nd year in a row) to play in the Gator Bowl.
