Is he serious with this bs?
Did Michigan sign Darko?
They're definitely up there, I don't see a huge problem with his opinion
So....the free press just linked a slurp article about u of m? Mighty fine journalism.
Can't believe that McGary is in his top 100. The kid has a high motor but poor coordination and low basketball IQ from what I've seen. Burke is a great player, Hardaway is good if his jumper is falling, and Stauskas is a great shooter. They have some very nice pieces, but I don't think they're anywhere close to being Final Four good.
Indiana is clearly better than they are, and I think MSU ends up as a better team as well. And right now I'd put Kansas, Syracuse, Louisville, Gonzaga, Duke and Florida above Michigan as well.

McGary will be what 23 by the time he develops into a potential NBA player. Probably not a 1st rounder at that age.
McGary should not be in anyone's top 100, but scUM is for real. I think they're a legit top 5 team right now. The only thing they're lacking is a really good big man, but Burke being so good with the pick and roll makes it a moot point (Burke ends up finding his bigs for wide open dunks/layups).
They're damn good.
Dominating Press Conferences Since 2007
Burke = good.
Hardaway = won't believe it until I see it in the big10.

They have a legit backcourt, decent inside and a good bench. They will win a lot of games.

if those fuckers win a natty before izzo wins his 2nd, i might kick a puppy
Anyone who has Mitch McGary in his top 100 hasn;t watched Michigan play this year so his opinion doesn't mean much. McGary is a fish out of water and averages 5 and 5. He's already 20.5 years old, so it's not like he;s going to improve much from here.
Stauskus is the real deal though, the kid is scary good as a shooter. Going to drive us nuts for a few years.
Pride comes before the fall...
It's dangerous to not take Michigan hoops seriously. I see a lot of people in this thread including the OP doing this.
You think Coach Izzo is as dismissive about the Wolverines as you are?
5 and 5 in 14 mpg isn't bad and he hits 60% of his shots. Yes he was overrated but he's also contributing enough and making contributions as a frosh.
Why is it dangerous? Unless Michigan is paying players again to create an unfair advantage over everyone, Michigan State basketball won't go anywhere. Duke, UNC and NC State coexist and all have had success.
Michigan hoops should have good years sometimes since they aren't a crap program and they play in an area where there are great recruits to be had. It was embarrassing to the Big Ten that they were so bad for so long.
Bad news guys. Michigan is good, thus far they have looked top 5 good as much as I hate to say it. The good news is MSU is good too and unlike Michigan I believe that MSU is no where near their peak for the talent they have, while I doubt Michigan will get that much better throughout the year. Just my two pennies.
Not saying they aren't good, but most talented team in the country is crazy. Look at Indiana.
Why would Michigan not get any better? They are giving freshmen more and more minutes, why wouldn't a team that young get better as the year goes on?
I'm not saying anything about MSU basketball. Why is it always a zero-sum argument with some of you?
MSU Basketball can be good and Michigan Basketball can be good. No matter how good Michigan basketball is, I always want MSU Basketball to be worlds better.
I'm saying it's dangerous to take them lightly because we've all seen what happens when we buy into our own hype before games get played. I would think most people would have learned this during the underwhelming football season, especially the preseason hype versus reality against Michigan.
But go ahead, late the hate for Michigan take away any semblance of rationality.

Burke, Robinson III, and Stauskus are all really good players. Morgan seems improved to me this year as well. Hardaway is one of the most overrated players in the Big Ten
If we can trick Coach Krzyzewski into saying his own name backwards, perhaps he will be pushed back to the fifth dimension
I hate to tell you this, but the attitude of fans on message boards has absolutely nothing to do with what happens in the games. Zero. Not. One. Bit. How the hell can fans taking someone lightly affect the outcome?
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
I mean, it's a subjective argument to begin with. I think a lot of people are trying to stir up controversy, which we all know sells papers/page views/clicks.
I personally think Indiana looks the most talented, but I can see how someone would make the argument for Michigan.
When you're over 20 years old and supposed to be one of the top recruits Michigan has ever brought in, yeah, it's bad. Matt Costello could put those numbers up if he was getting 14 minutes a game and he's just a regular 18 yeard old freshman who was barely a top 100 rated recruit.
What hype? MSU was ranked to start the year at #14. Michigan was ranked #5. Experts had already projected Michigan to be better than MSU this year.
All of us admit that Michigan is good. But they have to do it in the NCAA tourney. If you judged a team on just what they do in the regular season, we'd be talking about Wisconsin as an elite program.
