Press conference going on right now with Adreian Payne, Gary Harris and Keith Appling at the podium.
Appling says his knee is alright and it was nothing serious yesterday. I'll have more updates as we go here.

Appling says that with Memphis' athletes they will look to go inside more and focus on the paint. Payne points out that there are a lot of athletes in the Big Ten, as well.
Gary Harris says the shoulder feels alright and that his body actually feels better than it has in recent weeks. All players agree that turnovers will be key in this one.
Just got back from player interviews. If I hear that Memphis is an athletic team one more time I'm gonna lose it. Full highlights coming soon.
Memphis players at the podium, talking about how they didn't come here to just win one game.
Pastner due up next.
Pastner said he watched several videos of Tom Izzo drills this season. Rebounding was the biggest emphasis and Pastner said this has been the Tigers' best rebounding year since he's been there as a result. Therefore, Pastner says, if Memphis rebounds well and wins tomorrow it's thanks in large part to Tom Izzo.
Pastner talking about D.J. Stepehens, who was all over the place Thursday with a ton of blocks. Guaranteed he would win the NBA dunk contest next year if he were in it. Said for Memphis' Midnight Madness this year he wanted to dunk over a convertible, land in the convertible and drive off, but Pastner wouldn't let him.
So regardless of whether Memphis wins or loses, Tom Izzo will get the credit....?
Pastner saying he completely overanalayzed the NCAA Tournament last year. Spent way too much time and energy on Saint Louis prep, overthought how to play it, changed different things and ultimately lost as a result. Said this year it helped not knowing their opponent until Tuesday as St. Mary's won a play-in game to get to Auburn Hills.
Think that about sums it up.
overanalyzed? Nope, just a shitty coach.
Think there's something to what he said but agree Pastner is way overmatched in this one. Biggest mismatch tomorrow is likely Izzo vs. Pastner.
How could he dunk over a convertible and then land inside it?
Who sees all beings in his own self, and his own self in all beings, loses all fear."
He's really really good?!?
I'm not a dunk contest expert, but you could just put it under the basket and then drop in after the dunk. Not sure how serious he was about that one though.
dude, if you are over something, you are on top of it.
If you want to fall into something, you need to be over it.
Dunk over the car, drop into car. Not sure what the issue here is, he didnt say he would jump past the car, just jump over it.
So you're saying Memphis is Athletic? Right?
Nίκη για MSU
In my opinion the key to the success of this team is the play of Derrick Nix. When he is playing well that allows open shots for Harris and the rest of the guards, Dawson gets easy buckets slashing the lane and Payne being free to use his mismatch advantage. Dan what's your thoughts?
Yeah, why would you want to prepare for your opponent?
We are not the same, I am a Spartan
I think Dawson is the bigger key as the tournament goes on. Nix sort of is what he is at this point and, in my opinion, thrived Thursday mostly due to the opponent. Not to say he didn't play very well, but I still think this team can get way more out of Dawson. If it does, watch out.
It seems as the only way to get more out of Dawson is by him bringing energy. His points come on put backs and transition. We don't really run any plays through him.
Thought they did a much better job of getting him the ball in the first half yesterday. He slowed down a bit in the final 20 minutes but you're right that he's most valuable in the role you pointed out.
We don't run plays for Dawson. It's up to him to decide what he can give MSU in terms of energy, defense, rebounding and cutting.
Nix, on the other hand, has been Izzo's first option for most of the season. His savvy in the post (scoring or passing out to jump shooters) has been the wave Izzo wants to ride.
Only scares me if we run into Gorgui Dieng again....
