Says they "expect a physical game"... Page out of the Phil Jackson play book?
You're joking right?
Not surprised. We have to beat them on the glass early and often.
I don't think he's saying anything people, the refs, the fans, etc... already know. So I guess I don't see your point.
Bad thread, won't read again.
It's also a ploy out of the Roy Williams play book dating back to Kansas. He would always mention big ten basketball and how it was more like football than basketball.
Roy Boy crying about the MSU-Wisconsin Final Four game in 2000 was the epitomy of a coach bitching about other teams/conferences. Such a bitch.
I expect to see that rat faced bastard bitching to the refs all game friday night
Just hope the refs don't call every flop.
I actually think that sensitizing the refs to the fact that it will be physical actually hurts dook. I hope the refs expect it to be physical, at least they wont be surprised. K sets the refs up by having his team wear duke jerseys, he doesnt need to do anything else.
Yeah, I know. This is a coach who put together a game plan where they were just extremely physical with McDermott. He's not crying about the fact that this game will be physical. People will read what they want into anything.
Coach K should should nose better than that.
If Duke beats MSU on Friday, foul trouble will likely play a part, but this comment will not play a part with the foul trouble.
laconophilia is everywhere...
I just hope we dont have the same refs that they had for their game against Creighton. That was almost unbareable to watch. I think both teams has foul outs and several players with 4 fouls.
I like watching coach K whine like a little bitch when Dukie gets a couple fouls called. He acts like they are invincible to foul calls unless they are a few gratuitous "throw ins" once the game is out of reach and it makes the scoresheet look like the game was called evenly.
He always does that...
'Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable'
- President John F. Kennedy
Predictable. I mentioned on Monday in an MSU-Duke thread that it would be a recurring theme of his interviews this week:
For those that think this is just coach-speak, I couldn't disagree more. Coach K is very calculated in what he says to the press, and I think it's a mistake to dismiss that he does this as a subtle attempt to influence how our physical play would be viewed.
LOL, we are already complaining about the officials and the game hasn't started.
I don't think much of college officials, but even they have to know that Coach K is the biggest whiner in the history of college basketball. I'd bet good money that there hasn't been a single foul called on a Duke player that didn't result in his typical "That's bullshit!" tirade.
He's a little bitch.
