Claims that he watched him suck in the playoffs. Watched him cry. Watched him throw a bunch of interceptions at the MSU camp. He says that when he sees Morris ranked high he thinks the rankings are a joke.
and Tim is likely thinking "who TF is Shane Morris"
Yet if he came to MSU Comp would never say a word of that. Over the top fanboyism at its worst. Really not necessary.
Posting member of tRCMB since 1997.
It is ALWAYS a great day to be a Spartan!!!!
Only thing I care about with respect to Shane Morris is how hard our LBs pound his sorry ass.
Our coaches offered him and they are a lot better at evaluating talent than Jim Comparoni.
I get a kick out of Comp's shameless homerism and Staudt's cluelessness.
I get the impression Morris is actually overrated (based on nothing more than HS stats), but still, Comp sucks.
He could be the next Drew Henson but comp bashing him like this is out of line and poor form.
Exactly....the kid has talent no doubt, but is raw.
He really struggled big time in trying to qualify for the Elite 11 QB camp. He went to one of the southern tryout camps and stunk it up. But, better there so he can learn and develop. He has the ability to be sure. Once he learns some of the nuances, I think he will be fine. As far as losing in the playoffs and watching him cry.....lame. Pandering to the mostly MSU audience I am sure.
I like Comp. I like his candor. Hope he's right.
He is no doubt pandering to the MSU fans. However, one might recall a similar critique of another UM recruit a few years ago that has since proved to have an element of truth to it.
"The RCMB on 247 is one of the most awful, alarming, inappropriate, disgusting, and offensive msg boards in the history of the internet."
The kid is not as good as his rankings indicate, but both schools offered him as a sophomore in high school, so it's obvious he can play.
Morris has a rocket for an arm, and has decent accuracy. my problem with his tape though is he's always throwing to a receiver who is 5 yards wide open. i'd like to see how he's able to throw into a tight window with a defender draped over the receiver.

I think most players ranked in the top 25 are overrated.
Michigan State University is the university of Michigan
Comp did nail Will Campbell being overrated. That said, I don't really see the point in claiming UM's (or other teams') recruits are overrated. Wait until they are a bust to actually point out that they are a bust. Like someone said above, MSU offered him (though they probably knew he was going to UM, since Morris and Reschke are good friends).
He certainly seems talented, but if he's raw and not mentally tough, he's going to be a project. The hype has him being all that, but he might be more about potential than a sure thing.

Shane Morris was Dantonio's #1 plan A overall recruit from all positions. Also, who is comp?
Comp's ship is sinking. The Mag is a horrible product that has gotten worse, rather than better, in the face of increased competition for online MSU information. He'll say anything to try to drive traffic to his site. (Well, anything other than basketball recruiting updates).
Isn't he top 15 overall in the country (allegedly)?
He should be way more than "fine" to be rated there.
WTF is this based on? You have access to Dantonio's recruiting board?
Honestly. That was a show offer. The staff knew he was going to UM. Just like offering Cass kids or Wyatt shallman. You keep doing it as a sign of good faith to the high school coach. Not saying they wouldnt accept a commit but they know there is a .00001% chance of landing the kid so they throw out an offer.

Saw Morris play last year in regionals, saw Maxwell numerous times in hs. They compare and I might give arm strength to Maxwell. We'll see how Morris developed this off season.
YOUR have been banned from reading and posting on the Michigan Wolverine board.
Is Comp's ship sinking? I've never read Spartan Mag but I know some people enjoy it.
He is on Staudt every week which is a pretty nice platform for his website and publication. Think of all that free advertising that he gets, and all those Staudt listeners flocking over to his site.
Oh yeah, Warren De La Salle just oozes D-1 talent every year.
Why not add "of all classes over his entire career".
Despite the comic relief, -1.
Agree. Even on an off day the #1 pro style QB should at least be top 5 at a regional elite 11 camp with few elite QB prospects. He also did jack squat last high school season.
