I personally saw Morris play Brother Rice last year. I can confirm he has a rocket arm, but he has absolutely no touch on his ball.
yes I've watched all of his film
nobody is saying he sucks he absolutely should be a 4 star top 200 recruit every where but placing him in the top 25 nationally is a joke.
It's unfair to the kid that he'll be coming in with such unrealistic expectations
ESPN dropped him 73 spots
how does this thread only have 4 upvotes...come on, everyone - let's do this!!
Chengelis' spin on that will be hysterical. She's basically the kid's press agent.
Anyone. Anyplace. Anytime.
Well it's about time. Morris did nothing this year and in the all star games. Sometime performance on the field had to count for something.
Never saw the initial comments. Man, I can't imagine the RCMB meltdown if a UofM "insider" or whatever you want to consider Comp said those things about an MSU commit.
While it's nice to see that Morris is most likely a project and not ready to dominate in any way, shape, or form, Comp's words are embarrassing.
Rogue Leader= Obese coward who didn't attend MSU and has no college degree
Seriously? You want a list of BS Michigan people have said about our players and recruits? Currently the entire Walverine Nation is all over Drake Harris and spreading lies about him.
Fuck Michigan and fuck their overrated recruits.
That was a funny read!
I subsribe to Spartan Magazine the paper but usually don't read most of it and might finally get rid of it. Just way too long winded. I used to even get Spartan Plus years ago and try to read 30 page articles of analysis of games and recruits. To me it is all a pointless waste of time. But then you get a gem like this Morris saga!
Looks like comp nailed it, and looks like a lot of posters in this thread are eating some crow...
So we don't get to start bashing him 'til he's on the field in a um uni?
I think they're all trash.
Lol!!! He ended up with 730 yards in 6 games, but I'm sure he would have thrown for the other 3270 yards if he would have been healthy enough to play the last 3 games of the season.
The ONLY reason Morris is still a 5 star is because he's a UM commit. Meanwhile Damion Terry has one of best seasons in PA history and barely squeaks by with a 4 star (Rivals still had him at 3 last I knew).
Has Sugar Shane #8 QB overall.. Terry #13 QB overall
Yep- 5.7 3 star.. Rivals only has 2 4stars for MSU.. Jones and Reschke
They've got one trait in common. They overthrow the living hell out of every pass. What I've seen from camp film, NFTC, Elite 11, UA AA Game, etc hasn't looked that great. Virtually no senior film? Almost embarrassing where they propped him up to.
That being said. I don't give a shit he plays for the bad guys. Damien Terry shattered records against much better comp.
Tyler O'Connor will be just as good as Morris.

We should realize that there is a relationship between ratings and number of subscriptions. The same logic that drives pre-season rankings drive recruit ratings.
Its why ND always seems to have top 10 rated recruiting classes. Irish fans are a rabid bunch who buy and buy and buy.
Is Morris going to have a successful college career? We saw rr and Hoke have a good athlete, raw QB in Gardner watching Tater Tot and shoelaces for 3 years. Now Hoke getting the chance to redshirt Morris. Gardner is no longer a WR and Morris is no longer the sure bet starter for umaa in '13.
Comp is blunt but he's honest. He and Matt Dorsey called Grady and Will campbell as complete busts. He also called Antonio Bass being a hell of a player (before his knee blew up) and said Lemarr Woodley was a great player and a massive loss by MSU/JLS.
"losing Caleb Benenoch is a blow that Dantonio will never recover from. Izzo has lost it as well. Hoke and Beilein own the state."
My prediction for Shane's life as a Wolverine:
It doesn't really matter how he develops in the off season, because he won't start til his Jr.. or redshirt soph. year, as long as Gardner doesn't get hurt.
Yeah, who gives a shit how he develops in his first year in the program? He'll just learn it all in a summer anyways. All hail the Savior!
Shane will likely redshirt unless Gardner goes down. He'll then see some snaps his Redshirt freshman year and compete for starter his RS Sophomore year. Gardner is getting 2 more years I believe. What would be funny is if he fails to meet expectations and he gets Hoked after a couple years because Michigan brings in a couple better QBs behind him.
In all honesty, what do people think his rating would be had he performed the same, but been an MSU committ the whole time? 3 star? I doubt an MSU QB committ who completely bombed his senior season and looked like crap for his all star game (not just the game, but all week in practice he sucked reportedly) would be a 4 star even. Damien Terry just had the greatest season as a QB in Pennsylvania HS history and he's still a 3 star for Rivals although he's barely cracked 4 stars for a couple other services. Conversely, what would Damien Terry's rankiing be had he been a Michigan committ this whole time? My guess is that Rivals would be unveiling a 6th star.
It is what it is. I'm thrilled to get Terry. At this point, outside of Tanfan, I doubt you'd find a single Spartan fan who would want to trade Terry for Morris as a recruit.
