Already has one block, four rebounds and a bucket in just a few minutes. He is going to be a monster.
We can use guys who can hold on to the effing ball.
I told you he should be starting and that Izzo is an idiot for not doing it.

Amen..it's like the bigs ate a bunch of popcorn and then ran onto the court
We are playing Tuskegee. Nobody earns beast title against Tuskegee.
His game reminds me of anagonye.
with some touch.
6 points and 7 rebounds in only 7 minutes. Pretty impressive against any division one team but yeah in the thread body I said he is going to be a monster but I guess I got a little carried away on the title.
Edit: I guess they are division II not division I ?

Tuskegee is division 2.
I liked what I saw from Costello, but it was against a very very inferior opponent that had exactly 1 player taller than 6'6".
you should see him eat a pastrami sandwich on rye
I could see Costello as our missing 4 if he can get into playing shape and not make mistakes, and continue to run the floor!!!
At least he plays with porpoise! Once he gets settled down in the game he really does look like a starter.
He is going to be good, no doubt.
Do you suggest we hold off on sucking each other's dicks?
If he can do this againt a legit opponent then he can be called a monster or a beast.
I'm no Wolf but I think that would be an excellent suggestion.
I don't know if he's a beast, but he needs to get more playing time. He plays hard. He rebounds. He defends. He is going to make mistakes, but he needs to be given time to work through those mistakes and get better.
Not even touching is allowed, right?
Appling got 25 points by taking 9 shots.
I think he managed to do it.
Even considering his early injury, I don't think he has had enough minutes. I thought the same thing of Draymond at a similar point in his career. Costello was not a Delvon or Harris type recruit that was penciled into the starting line-up upon their committment. Like Draymond he is going to have to carve out minutes by empirically demonstating his value on the court.
I think Nix being selected "captain" will limit Costello's PT. Having Nix on the bench next to Byrd kind of defeats the "player's coach" Izzo always talked about.
I agree that this team is lacking at the 4 shot but this problem is actually two-fold. Neither Costello nor Gauna had stepped up too slow they deserve major minutes, but Dawson also lacks the ball skills to play the 3. I think our turnover problem has been at its worst when we have two bigs, two guards and Dawson on the floor because BJ can't take more than two dribbles without coughing it up.
Even if Costello proves himself capable of starting at the 4, I doubt he would be able to. Dawson is too good not to start, but also not ready to play the 3 at this point.
This team IMO is missing that guy that doesnt back down from anyone and hits people, thats Costello. The kid boxes out and gets position, i love the kids mentality. I want him to play more and i actually thought he was gonna start this yr at the 4 or atleast have a good amount of PT
The injury set him back but he will get his chance. His skill set is unique and we need a little more nasty. IMO, his upside is obviously higher than AG.
He's the most natural rebounder on the team and possesses the most upside of any big man on the roster. Izzo will find a way to get him more playing time. The team needs a player with his grit, size and skill set.
dunno about that... if Payne gets his head strait, he has HUGE upside.
But between his lung capacity and whatever else... I don't know if he will ever hit that level consistently.
