Has a reason been given by Lucas Oil for not going with the "Basketbowl" orientation and using a curtain instead? I'm sure you get more quality seats this way I'm guessing, it's always cool as hell to see the court in the middle of a football stadium though.

The full stadium setup blows.
Especially when it's not full.

Yep. This set-up isn't even full for tonight's games.
Time to go back to basketball arenas for all the games
Cowboy stadium is massive
Agree. They don't even fill football stadiums for the final four anymore. Best crowd the got was 2009, but we know why. Had MSU not made the final, would have been half full for that championship.
2010 was packed
I have no problem with football stadiums for the Final Four, they will be sold out every time. They don't make sense for any round before that though. Whats the point of even using a stadium if you're going to use the half field orientation?
Conseco only holds about 18,000 so the half field still prob seat about double. Just looks dumb on TV.
I'm assuming the current set-up at Lucas Oil can accommodate around 30,000. The field house seats quite a bit less than that. The NCAA's just trying to maximize its profits for its biggest money-maker.
As for empty seats at the Final Four, well, the NCAA probably doesn't care about butts in seats as long as the tickets are paid for by somebody.
The camera angle sucks. I feel like I am in the rafters when watching this game on TV.
2009 at Lucas Oil was basketbowl style. Louisville v Arizona and State v KU. It was fairly full.
