Notes that he has a hard time putting MSU #2, and that there is a clear top 2.

Doesn't really make sense does it? Hard time deciding on #2 team but the top 2 are clear?
Suprised he gave MSU a lot of cred
so mattyfresh and so clean
Agree there is a clear top 2 but it's pretty hilarious he has Illinois at 3. I honestly think he just chooses one outrageous pick to rile everybody up.
The two best teams Are clearly above the rest he says but picking 1 and. 2 not easy
Illinois is playing as well as anyone outside of MSU/IU lately. They have won their last 5 games with a win over Indiana included in that. He had UM just below them and they have been blown out recently and Wisconsin has a loss to Minnesota in their recent games.
So you can make the argument that Illinois is playing the third best of anyone in the league right now.
Ah makes more sense
I think his top is spot on except I would put Wisc at 4 and UM at 5.
Then he later says IU is the clear favorite to win the NCAA tournament. Seems contradictory.
I noticed that too. He's just a shock and awe superlative spewer like every other color guy at ESPN (and probably everywhere). They don't put together coherent arguments, just random assortments of unconnected statements that come to them.
Yes, he said he goes by how teams are playing recently rather than overall body of work.

Gotta think UM will pass Illinois next week.
I am a fan of the Dakitch Index
I actually really like it. It's no more or less important than either of the major polls.
